A:AnswerIt works without a subscription but you need to purchase a USB stick for storage and format and insert it into the hub that controls these cameras.
A:AnswerI believe It doesn’t record unless you have the subscription. But you do receive motion alerts and can view live… personally I think their pointless without the subscription…
A:AnswerBatteries life depends on multiple factors, like how often you arm the camera, how often they alert, and the sensitivity setting you have it set to. The more sensitive, the more often it will alert when armed. That being said, my cameras are set at a pretty high sensitivity and remain armed 24-7. I change the batteries about once a year and you can pick up replacement batteries at Walmart.
A:AnswerThe cameras are accessed via an app from your mobilephone. I assume that your phone is 5G, so it is safe to think the app will work like any other phone app... 4G or 5G. But I think you will need a stand alone internet connection at the location of your camera, (not just using your phone service as an all-in-one). I could be wrong, but people that do everything via their phone service provider are out of luck with a remote camera monitoring setup.
A:AnswerHi there,
As with any internet-connected device, having more items connected to your network may slow it down. Blink does not put a heavy load on internet connections typically, so you shouldn't see a degradation in signal quality or speed due to Blink cameras. Both 3 and 5 camera systems have the same internet connection requirements, which can be found here:https://support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/before-you-begin/system-requirements
A:AnswerSubscription is optional
You can use local storage if you insert a usb drive into the sync module. It will save the videos on the drive and you can see the videos on the app on your phone. It does work with Alexa
A:AnswerTo take full advantage of camera functions, I think "yes". ($10/ mo or $100/yr). You can attach a thumb drive to the base unit and much like having storage on a home network router setup, you could probably access the collected data that way but I do not think there is a way to receive real-time notifications without buying the service.
