Bosch dishwashers' flow-through water heaters increase water temperature inside the appliances, eliminating the need to pump hot water into them. The heaters can raise water temperature as high as 162 degrees Fahrenheit.

• A:Answer PRO: They are hidden from kids who want to push the buttons. Also it has a better look. CON: there is a led that shines on the floor to let you know it’s running and the Door beeps when it closes. Your just not sure how far along you are at a glance. It’s easy to restart but you need to interrupt the cycle.

• A:Answer I took the 3rd rack out. It seems to me it is a utensil rack. Not tall enough for dishes or glasses. Pretty close to top of washer. The dishwasher has lots of room. This has to be the best I have ever purchased.

• A:Answer It absolutely is usable, however difficult to open & close if fully mounted in without the front panel providing a handle. If you need to use it before completed better to have it sit a little forward and out from under cabinet. Also, the door is designed for the weight of the cabinet to counter the resistance, so without it, the door will want to pull up and close WAY more aggressively than normal. Also, for the fit to work proper we had to remake cabinet plate to 29x23 3/4.

• A:Answer 1) The time remaining is displayed after choosing the wash options, but before starting it. After starting, there is no time remaining display. However, there is a red light that indicates that it is running. 2) Yes, there is a filter. But it's simple. Just a twist of the wrist to remove it. Then rinse it and put back on with another twist of the wrist. I'd say plan on doing it the first of every month so it's a routine.

• A:Answer Hi marie. Thank you for your question. Model:SHPM78Z54N does not have a hard food disposer. Bosch dishwashers do not have or need a "garbage disposal" since Bosch dishwashers have a three stage filtration process which removes 100% of food particles from the wash water. Plus, the up to 162 degree wash and rinse water softens and breaks down foods. In fact, Bosch recommends users DO NOT PRE-RINSE your dishes prior to placing into dishwasher, simply scrap off the larger food debris and place "dirty" dishes into the dishwasher. The remaining food activates the enzymes in today's detergents for maximum cleaning results.

• A:Answer I can't speak for all Bosch dishwashers but for the Bosch 800 series you don't necessarily need an installation kit. However, this series is not hard wired but comes with a "standard" plug that you would plug into a dedicated standard outlet. Depending on your situation, if you don't have a dedicated outlet and dependent on your electrical skill you would need to either add an outlet in the near vicinity of the dishwasher or modify the dishwasher to be hardwired. You can purchase a Bosch outlt kit that contains everything necessary to change a hardwire site to an outlet for the dishwasher. The drain and water supply lines that come with unit are of standard length.

• A:Answer Yes that is right. You have to clean it. I rinse mine every time. You do not want food particle to get stuck in the washing spray wands. There are little hose in them to squirt water over the dishes. If food get stuck in the holes then they will not squirt to clean. Because you wait so long then the filter will get really dirty. Then you have to use a brush to clean it. I just rinse mine. Clean it more often. Remember you are putting very dirty dishes into the dishwasher. Where do you want the dirty stuff to go? In the dishwasher pump? For me because there is a filter this dishwasher will last a very long time. I have no problem cleaning the filter. When to unit is finished the dishes are spotless every time.

It is ideal for washing large items on the lower rack (such as roasting pans and baking trays) Attaches easily to the back wall of the dishwasher and you can remove all racks but the bottom rack for large items.
