A:Answer Put it this way, in just as a little bit more than two years, there is no longer an external battery pack on these things. My best guess is that with technology as it is, there has to be some kind of lithium-ion battery inside the PC. I think the days of the rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries are history now! That's a good thing! I have not had to split the case yet on my new Dell laptop, but the internal 3v button battery inside of my previous Dell is probably, if they even have them anymore, is probably a lithium battery as well now.
