Highlights

Features
  • True RGB, the future of color

Powered by a newly evolved Backlight Master Drive, Sony's True RGB drives three-color LEDs independently for unprecedented color volume, precise color gradation, and a significantly wider viewing angle.

  • A new era of uncompromising color accuracy

Sony unites the color range of our flagship OLED with the high brightness of a Mini LED. This breakthrough enables a new level of color volume and the ability to render even more accurate colors.

  • See the hidden depths like never before

From the brightest peak to the darkest shade, Sony's True RGB faithfully reproduces even the finest tonal details. It brings the full depth of the story vividly to life on screen.

  • Color, faithfully reproduced

Sony's True RGB sensing function detects LED operating efficiency in real time and optimizes brightness accordingly, so the TV consistently reproduces the color tones of the input video with high fidelity.

  • Same stunning picture, any seat

With X-Wide Angle Pro, color and contrast stay vivid and natural from the side as well as the front, giving the whole room a true cinema view.

  • Watch uninterrupted, even in daylight

From morning light to evening glare, Immersive Black Screen Pro keeps the picture clear. Reflections are minimized by a unique screen treatment, letting you stay absorbed in the film without distraction, whatever the time of day.

  • Smarter picture in real time

The XR Processor uses AI scene recognition to optimize color, contrast, and clarity in every frame for lifelike realism.

  • Make everything you watch look closer to 4K

XR Clear Image AI restores lost detail and reduces noise for a clearer, more natural image.

  • Contrast intensified. Depth amplified

XR Contrast Booster precisely balances light across the screen, adjusting brightness for higher peaks in glare and deeper blacks in shadow.

  • Even fast-moving action stays smooth, bright and clear

XR Motion Clarity analyzes movement across several frames and precisely synchronizes the backlight with on-screen motion so you see clear, bright images, however fast the action.

  • My Cinema presets. Tailored to the moment

Choose from cinema-optimized picture and sound presets designed for various viewing environments. These presets adjust your TV for the best movie-watching experience with just a single step.

Generally great picture. Some quirks exist

Loved the brightness and colors—these are awesome. The anti-glare is amazing. Google TV is fine. Plenty of the positives are covered in other reviews so I will just focus on the flaws I experienced. But streaming had some weird issues in specific spots, and it happened both ways—through the built-in Apple TV app AND my external Apple TV 4K box. Interstellar has this one scene right before they go through the wormhole where these visible backlight squares pop up in the dark areas—really distracting. Popped in the 4K Blu-ray through the same setup and that exact scene looked totally fine. However, the water mountain scene in Interstellar—that huge wall of water—had this strobing behavior on every platform I tried. Built-in Apple TV app, external Apple TV, and even the 4K Blu-ray. So that's not a streaming issue, that's the TV itself struggling with that specific scene. Widows Bay had its own issue in specific dark scenes—this weird strobing effect, like white or gray lines slowly moving down the screen. Even paused it and the lines kept crawling down. Only happened in certain shots but super distracting when it did. The takeaway I have is that it feels like the TV has some PQ weaknesses that really tend to be seen when streaming. The Gemini button is useless if you use Apple TV. Won't pull up anything from your library. And the gaming menu randomly vanished for a whole day while I was PC gaming. Power cycled it, nothing. Next day it just worked again. Also if you use the Apple TV through your AV receiver and switch to another input, after a while the Apple TV turns off and takes the receiver with it. So your speakers stop working until you go turn it back on. My old LG C9 never did this and the LG G6 I replaced the Sony with doesn't either. Sony's HDMI CEC implementation seems a bit buggy. I wasn't willing to live with the quirks and ended up returning it. If these issues get fixed it will be absolutely fantastic, but as it stands you may not like it if you watch a lot of dark content over streaming services.

    Color That Pops

I’ve never been a TV guy, the TV’s I’ve had were over 7 years old. And since mine was going out I saw the latest hype for this True RGB. What caught me off guard at first was the picture quality. The colors truly look bright. Movies never looked this good in my home before. The sound is loud and clear. Since this TV has a Voice Zoom feature I’m able to hear audio from people speaking better than the action going on in the background. Our living room has never been “lived in” as much in the past but it’s all changed since we’ve put this TV in there. I worried about how bright the living room is and how it would affect the TV. We have windows all around the living room because we live in a cornered apartment. Windows hit in front of the TV and towards the right when facing it. This is why I opted to get the 9 II because of its anti-glare feature. This feature works and it works so well that I don’t have to close the blinds like I had to with my previous TV. The backlit remote is a nice touch as well. A few dislikes I have is gaming, the price, and certain things this TV has been doing that might be user error or because it’s still new. Gaming has been odd in a way where picture and sound haven’t synced up correctly from time to time. I see myself having to restart the TV itself and it’s able to fix it but if I have to do this all the time it can get annoying. Price has been a big topic amongst many people in the public. I feel like in my situation it made sense but according to TV enthusiasts it’s a bit on the high side. May be good when it goes on sale. Lastly the TV would be put in different modes automatically depending on where you’re at. I find when I’m on Amazon Prime it does this dimming thing before you select a movie or show. Can get irritating but I was able to change the mode to brighten it with no issues. Advice I should give you when getting this TV: If you’re like me who hasn’t really been big on TVs look up the features this TV can do for you. It’s not a bad TV it’s wonderful but for a guy who doesn’t know anything about the Bravia series it can get overwhelming with all the options you can do to make your watching experience much more enjoyable.

    Glad I waited to upgrade

I knew I was in need of a new TV but didn't realize how badly until I saw this model in operation and in my home. I am impressed not only with the bright and sharp images but also how well it displays older programming. The anti glare upgrade has been woth the up tick on its price. Mid Sommer Murders, Big Bang Theory and newly released content never looked so good.
