    • Answer No. The Dyson filter is not equipped to destroy particles of nanometers in size. Units for that purpose are quite expensive and normally limited to industrial and/or academic laboratories working with bacterial and viral cultures. The formaldehyde destruction property of the unit is a specialized filter designed to capture that particular molecule from the environment. Formaldehyde, with the chemical makeup of CH20, and a weight of 16 g/mol is designed to be captured by the unit with a special filter which is not designed to capture viruses or bacteria.

  • QuestionIf it's 2050 watts max when heating, that means it's drawing 17 amps, so it would be tripping a 15A breaker right? Does it need a 20A dedicated circuit? If this is heating and I turn on a 4A TV on the same 20A breaker, wouldn't that trip the breaker?

While our machines do have a heating element, they're measured in watts. While in heat mode, the purpose is to provided heated, purified air in to your room. How well it heats your space would vary, depending on factors such as doors and windows, how warm the room already is, the air temperature outside, etc. With our Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ purifiers, you can set the desired air temperature all the way to 99 degrees, and you have 10 airflow speeds to choose from.   • Questionwhy do so many people that review the product complain about the noise from the product.

    • Answer Owning three of these units myself, I am not sure why people complain about the noise of the unit. Its fans can be controlled by the remote control, and if one is concerned about noise, one could simply turn down the velocity of the fans to a more suitable volume level while keeping the same air filtration in place.

  • QuestionI found out that heaters can only be used with their own outlets, but can this all in one fan, air purifier and heater be used with any extension cords, surge protectors or outlets that already have something else plugged into? I hope you're sure.

    • Answer Hi Bobbie, this is Kelly with Dyson. We do suggest that our air treatment machines are plugged into their own outlet, as they do draw a lot of power while in use. Using on outlets with other high-powered devices can cause the circuit to short out.
