QuestionWhat if there is a few days of cloud cover, how long can it work with no sun?

- Answer Normal battery life with no recharge is good for 2 months at regular usage. Solar helps the battery recharge from 75% to 98%. If there is no sun for 3 months I think we will have more to worry about.

- Answer You can sign up for it, but don'thave to. There's a basic $3 and $10 plan. There's an 8gb card for local storage. It can't be upgraded for more storage because it's built-in.

- Answer It is IP67 Weatherproof. However, in order to avoid the problem of rapid aging of equipment due to excessive sunlight or heavy rain erosion, we recommend you use some cover to shield the surface of the solar cam if there is a lot of rain.

QuestionI understand you need WIFI to access the app and videos, BUT will the camera still trigger and record even without WIFI? For example, lets say that a storm knocks out the internet and blows down a tree. Will I see that vid after the internet is restored

- Answer I don't see why it wouldn't. You just wouldn't get the pings to your phone when your router is not powered. As long as the camera is on, video should be saved to the internal card and retrievable once it reconnects to the wifi.

QuestionI have a Wi-Fi 5GHz. Sometimes it goes to 2.4GHz. Can I use this product?

- Answer The eufy Security - SoloCam S40 only works on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi. If your Wi-Fi sometimes switches to 5GHz, the SoloCam S40 will not be able to connect to the 5GHz network and will only function on the 2.4GHz band. To ensure compatibility, you may need to configure your router to separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks or have the SoloCam S40 connect exclusively to the 2.4GHz network.

The SoloCam S40 does not use an external SD card; instead, it is equipped with built-in 8GB eMMC storage that securely stores video recordings. You can access all recorded footage through the eufy Security app without physically removing any component from the camera.

- Answer Most wireless home devices connects only to 2.4GHz WiFi signal. According to Eufy: Please note eufySecurity devices only support 2.4GHz WiFi network, which means you will need to connect your mobile device to your 2.4GHz WiFi network, and then connect your eufySecurity device to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network during the setup process in eufySecurity app.

- Answer If you mean the solar panel, no. it has the panel on it already. The camera comes with a USB-C cable that you can charge with any fast charge power supply. It will take almost all day to fully charge it though.

QuestionWill these cameras operate during subzero temps? We live in the Midwest where wind chill can get below zero often. I don't want my security to stop because the wind blows for 3 months of winter. What are the outdoor temperature ratings on this?

- Answer Yes they will I lived in Idaho where it was really cold and didn’t fail. Just make sure it’s where you have sun hitting it. I suggest warrant the last two extra ones I got when on sale crapped out within 3 months.

- Answer The eufy SoloCam S40 uses the eufySecurity app for its functionality. You can download the app from the App Store for iOS devices or Google Play for Android devices. Alternatively, you can visit eufylife.com to access the app download link and additional resources. Unfortunately, the eufySecurity app cannot connect with cameras that use the CloudEdge app, as they operate on different systems. If you want all cameras on the same app, you would need to ensure the cameras are compatible with the eufySecurity app.
