QuestionCan this unit be operated on its side, with the vent on the left or the right rather than the top? I have a tall, narrow window.

- Answer I'm sure the unit would operate properly on its side. However, unless it fits snugly in the window you aren't going to be able to block A/C loss to outside. The side shades provided would be difficult to manipulate & use vertically.
