• Hello Linda. We would not recommend this model air conditioner for horizontal or slider windows. The smallest slider window air conditioner would be model FFRS0822S1, which is an 8000 BTU model. Thank you for the inquiry. ~ Anna

• I don't think so, because the lip that keeps it in the window is on the top of the unit. Therefore you have nothing to hold the weight of the unit.
