- Answer Cool mode is the air conditioner mode. There is no drain line needed while using the unit in Cool mode. Dry mode is used when using the unit as a dehumidifier. When using Dry mode a discharge hose (a short garden hose) will need to be attached to the "continuous drain outlet" to allow drainage of the moisture the unit is removing from the surrounding air. The hose will need to drain to an area below the "continuous drain outlet" on the unit, whether it is a floor drain or a collection pan that will have to be emptied when full. The unit does not have a pump to move the water to an elevation above the "continuous drain outlet" it is strictly a gravity fed system. You WILL NOT be able to drain out a window unless the window it below the "continuous drain outlet" in the middle of the unit. **The 4-1 Units, which this unit is NOT, include a Heat mode. During Heat mode there is a need to have a drain hose in place to drain out the window.

- Answer Hi, as for the vent you most definitely have to vent the hot air out of the space or room, as for the water you only need to drain it if you use the dehumidifier mode or fan only mode, but for using the AC unit you only empty it when you are ready to store the unit away for the winter, you're not supposed to empty it while using it all summer, there are s couple of good informative videos on YouTube about that, I hope this helps.

- Answer Yes, I have screens on the windows where I have my units installed. The window kit fits into the slot for the window, so as long as your window slot is inside of the screen slot, you should be fine.

QuestionIs it okay to leave the unit on in high cool for 24 hours?

- Answer I saw a comment that showed ice on the air intake, I’m assuming they ran it for way over 24 hours straight and on the lowest setting, keep it somewhere like 66-70 and you can run it for however long just make sure the filter gets cleaned every so often.

- Answer I had to cut a couple of inches off of my panel. Nothing for that is included but i was able to use a box cutter with a few passes to cut through.
