Can I put the wine cellar inside a cabinet?   (2 Answers)

model:FWC084HM I plan to stack one wine cellar on top of a second one inside a cabinet. Would I need to provide any type of air circulation in the cabinet? It might be possible to remove the door of the cabinet.

        Answer

You would have to meet the clearance specs of 2 inches top and sides and 4 inches rear. Even then, I would make sure there was a vent hole at the rear of the cabinet in line with the fan on each unit. If you left the door on the cabinet I would also provide a vent of some sort to allow room air to flow in. The 2" clearance spec would preclude stacking these one on top of the other. I would also be concerned about the weight of a fully loaded unit sitting on top of another unit. I built a shelf unit for the 3 units I plan to have. With proper clearance for air flow the top of the top unit is about 4 feet off the floor.

Have a 2 socket dedicated outlet - can I plug the wine cooler and a microvave into the same outlet?

          Answer

Low amp / wattage draw on the wine cooler, would guess it would be fine. Assuming the dedicated circuit is for the microwave only and there is nothing else on the circuit.

Does the cord/plug stick out from the back, and if so, how much clearance for it is needed? Also, how much does the handle stick out?   (1 Answer)

I have to put this in a tight space! I'm hoping someone can tell me the exact measurements, factoring in however much room is needed for the cord and the front handle. Thank you!

            Answer

You should plan to have about 3" of clearance for the back. The electric cable is thick so it doesn't have a great bend radius. Plus its up high on the back panel.

Do depth dimensions of 20-2/3" include handle?   (3 Answers)

Squeezing this into an enclosed tight space, and the handle sticking out could prevent the cabinet door from closing. Your input would be very helpful! Thank you in advance!

Need a real and sensible sizing for this unit.   (2 Answers)

Although I see on the product page that 2 of the 3 nonsensical measurements have been cleaned up to reflect values that actually appear on a tape measure, the most important one to me is the height, that still reads the nonsensical "10-9/10 inches". Can anyone tell me, say in eighths of an inch what the actual height is?

                  Answer

I own it and it is 10 7/8" from counter top to top. However, this is a cheaply-made item (e.g., screws are drilled at a angle, corners don't line up perfectly), so there's bound to be a good deal of variation from unit to unit. I think the height is perfect because it allows just enough room for my tablet PC (with kickstand) or a stack of cookbooks on top underneath the upper cabinets.
