There is not a button that can be pressed to change what angle or direction is being recorded. The Dash Cam 20 uses a swivel style mount on the windshield, so the camera could be turned to the side for this kind of application. ^DK

However, you could unmount it and position it somewhere where you could record whatever you wanted to. Assuming you have the display turned off, the only indication would be the small red LED. It also records sound, if you have that option selected.
