- Answer WiFi isn't used. Only needs view of sattelites through windshield. I have used my cell phone (Waze) for years but it's a nuisance (lost signals and maps when out of range of cell towers) and useless in the boonies where there is no signal. The maps appear complete and cover all roads in the national parks and even some dirt roads. You won't regret purchase.

QuestionThe Garmin I have now has 3D, trip routing and can be set by my phone with bluetooth. If this does not have all of these features can you please suggest the one that does? Mine has a black spot on the screen so it needs to be replaced.

- Answer This model does not include Bluetooth. The Drivesmart, DriveAssist and DriveLuxe models include the Bluetooth feature to pair your phone.

- Answer Yes. There are various categories where you can search. There is no end to all the locations you might need from attractions to hotels to restaurants to banks. The Garmin stores all that is available in a town or city.

- Answer Uncertain, but I bought it this month because my old one stopped working. It is just ok, the only one they had in stock. Like many others, preferred my former Garmin, although that LMT model is no longer made. I discovered not many improvements in the unit/technology in 5 years .

- Answer Yes, this device includes the Trip Planner feature that can be used to create and save a trip with multiple stops. An Optimize Order feature is also included to have the device calculate the most optimum order in which to travel to all the entered points.

- Answer I doubt it. I tried using it in Canada where it is advertised to work in Canada and Mexico. Did not at all have the correct directions. I depended only on my cell phone.

- Answer No, this model does not include an altimeter. It will allow you to view your current location's elevation. Note that elevation on automotive devices is based solely on map data and may not be 100% accurate, depending on satellite signal strength and available map data. You can also view the direction of travel in one of the Trip Data fields on the map screen.

QuestionWhen I upload the Current. GPX file from PC (an older Nuvi) to this device's GPX folder replacing the default file, upon removing the Garmin 52 from the computer, the Favorites from the older Garmin are not saved here as "Saved" place here ?

Questioncan i hard wire gps onto a rocker panel instead of using power port (lighter) i understand that it would be permanent and not mobile. thanks

- Answer You can, I have done this in my truck. What you have to do is connect to rocker switch to a separate cigarette light power port available from autozone,(see image below, just cut off clamps) then plug the garmin power plug into that and hide it in the dash somewhere. I have mine wired to a switched 12 volt source (cruise control fuse) so it comes on when I start the truck. I have a Garmin in each of my trucks, so I'm not worried about it not being removable.
