Q: QuestionTHE PANEL DOES NOT ILLUMINATE , IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE IT. THE DISPLAY BUTTON WHEN IT IS PRESS FOR OVER 3 SECONDS ONLY AFFECTS THE CLOCK. IS THIS DEFFECTIVE OR THE WAY IT IS. ALSO THERE WAS NOT OWNERS MANUAL INCLUDED IN THE DELIVERY.

This model does not have back-lit controls, therefore adjusting the display brightness will only affect the clock. Q: QuestionHello, our GE Spacemaker xl1800 handle broke and we are going to replace it. In the short video, it states the bottom of the microwave should be 30inches above the range. Is that correct? The one we have now is about 18inches above. Replacement model?

• A:Answer Hello PbSand. Thank you for your interest. We are glad to assist. Over-the-range microwaves require a minimum 66" mounting height from the floor to the top on the microwave. The 66" minimum from the floor dimension will allow approximately 14"-16" between the cooktop and the bottom front of the microwave. Although we no longer make your model, we do have a variety of great new models available. We normally do not suggest an exact replacement because all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66” min mounting height). The height and depth of the models may vary slightly, but any of our new models will work in your current space. The JVM6175SKSS is a great replacement model. We hope this information is helpful. Q: QuestionMy GE micro wave is asking for a code to simply heat anything. All that is working is the clock. When press 1 the Word food comes up and it will not allow me to heat the food. Help!!÷

Some microwave models have a built-in 5-minute internal timer as a safety feature preventing the microwave from cooking without food inside, since doing so can cause the unit to overheat. If food is placed into the cavity before selecting a cooking sequence, opening and closing the door activates the switch, initiating the 5-minute internal timer. The door latch switch must be opened and closed before hitting “START,” which signals the unit that food has been placed inside. The "FOOD" message on the display means the microwave thinks food has not been added yet. To correct the issue, open and close the door again and press “START.” We hope this is helpful. • A:Answer Hello, thank you for reaching out about this microwave. The 30 second button will work the same as the other model you were looking at. It will add 30 seconds to the time counting down each time the pad is pressed. Each touch will add 30 seconds, up to 99 minutes and 99 seconds. The button can also be used like an express 30 seconds button. The microwave oven will start immediately when pressed. Q: QuestionOur GE Model JVM1752DP2BB Microwave goes completely dead when gets done cooking. If I unplug it and plug it back in it will seem to reset itself and work again. Is this a repairable problem or is it better to purchase a new micrwave? It is 7 years old.

Q: QuestionI have GE Profile over the range microwave; model PVM 1870sm1ss. I need to replace it. I also have backsplash with tiles that go right up to the bottom of microwave. What microwave will work without leaving a gap. Can the installer go over the tile?

When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model.
