Q: QuestionWe have an old ge microwave that is over the counter and vented at the top of the microwave outside of the cabinet. Thinking of buying the jnm7196skss but unsure about the venting. Will it vent outside of the cabinet like our old micro? Live in a condo

This over-the-range microwave does has the option for recirculating (non-vented ductless) ventilation. It would require the use of a Charcoal Filter Kit, which is included in the purchase of the microwave. Q: QuestionI need to replace a GE Profile OTR microwave model #: PVM2070SMISS. Which current models would fit without having to damage or change any existing cabinets?

• A:Answer Hi - We have wonderful news. All of our over-the-range style microwaves fit in a 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the installation hardware and mounting bracket that is included with the new model. Your existing model is a 2.1 cubic foot capacity with sensor cooking functions. We would recommend taking a look at the PVM9215SKSS or the JVM7195SKSS to have similar capacity and sensor cooking functionality. Please reach out to us again if you have additional questions. Q: QuestionI am looking to replace my GE Over the range microwave (Model #JVM3670SK06) with GE Model #JNM719GSKSS. Will this work? The microwave is built-in and is 36" wide. I am thinking that there is a filler (?) around it to make it fit. Can I get that also?

Q: QuestionWhich over-the-range microwave filler kit is compatible with model JNM7196SKSS? Is it the JX36DSS or the JX36BSS? What is the difference between these two filler kits?

JX36DSS has dimensions of 16"H x 3"W x 14-1/8"D while JX36BSS measures 15.66"H x 3” W x 13.82” D. JX36BSS is the filler kit that would be compatible with this model. Q: QuestionCan one easily buy the charcoal filter? How often should it be replaced? Is the charcoal filter the same among different GE models? Does the microwave do a good job of purifying cooking odors?

• A:Answer Hi there, we appreciate you reaching out to us. Yes, the charcoal filter for this microwave (WB02X10956) can be purchased on our parts website or at a GE Appliances dealer. In addition, the charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored. Lastly, the fan is designed to help protect the electronic components and help the cooking area get rid of excess heat, but it's not specifically manufactured to purify cooking odors. Q: QuestionI currently own GE Model JVM7195SKSS. The LED display is green. The same color as the stove display. The sensor died. I was considering replacing it with Model JNM7196SKSS until I saw that the LED display is white. Is my current model still available?

The recommended measurements for installation can be seen on page 7 of the installation instructions here: https://files.bbystatic.com/D8505xASz7TWU7wUCScjfA%3D%3D/873749db-f7cc-47f6-a6e6-85f440aa17e5.pdf The bottom of the cabinet that the microwave will be attached to show be 66" above the floor and 30" above the cooktop. These measurements are minimums. This is no maximum measurement, although keep in mind that the further away from the cooking surface, the less effective the vent fan will be. Keep in touch! - JB
