A:AnswerIt may or may not fit the existing opening. GE says it will but I replaced a 33 year old GE 27" with a new GE 27" wall oven and the cabinet had to be modified slightly.
A:Answeri found that what is advertised as a 27” wide unit actually fit in an opening of about 24 1/2 inches. Evidently the manufacturers measure the outside dimensions of the unit itself (the front) instead of what size opening will work. Sort of like lumber. A “2 x 4” will not actually measure 2 inches by 4 inches. It’s smaller.
