A:AnswerHi Bargainseeker23- The washer basket is stainless steel. The dryer drum is DuraDrum which is a galvanized steel drum that is double coated with tough polyester paint and backed with a stainless steel rear. The drum is white in color, with the shine, smoothness, and durability of stainless steel in the back of the drum. Thanks for viewing GE. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi Micci. This is Richard. Thanks for the question. It is because it is new. This noise will occur during agitation on a new washer when the brake pads are wearing with the breaking surface. This noise should go away after a short time. All the best!
A:AnswerOnly one electrical outlet is requiere 220V. Installation is pretty easy. Appliance had a hose set included even though bestbuy suggest to buy it which I did only to realized it was inside the washer basket after I installed the appliance.
Hope this helps others.

A:AnswerHi - Thanks for considering GE! Heater is 4500W, washer motor is 350W; dryer motor is 430W (full load) or 165 W (no load); total load (4500+350+430) = 5280W or 5.280 KW. This appliance should be connected to an
individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 240V or 208V
single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by
30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage
(240/208). This appliance is manufactured with neutral connected to
the frame. Power cord is sold separately. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:AnswerYes. I’m using it with an indoor vent kit. Just make sure you’re space has good air circulation ie: a window or door near it. Otherwise you will get moisture. The unit works great by the way!
A:AnswerHello CleanComfort - Thank you for your question; we are happy to help! Current appliances have a data port (like an RJ jack or ethernet port) that allows the appliance to be tested or serviced more easily. This port is used by GE Appliances factory technicians to plug in their diagnostic equipment when needed. If the model has optional WiFi Connect capabilities, it is also where you plug in the optional Wifi ConnectPlus module. We are glad you checked. Olga
A:AnswerHi - This unit is not labeled HE. Top-loading and front-loading GE Appliance washers with the HE label are defined as washers that use low-water levels in wash and rinse cycles. Some GE Appliance washer models have the "HE" label on the control panel and other models do not. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi - You can certainly use detergent pods with your new washer. Simply place the detergent pods in the bottom of the wash basket before adding clothes. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! Sue
A:AnswerThe washer is noisy but you do get used to it. I chose to get used to it because the capacity and features are terrific for a stackable. I still recommend it because of the functionality and the dryer is not loud at all. Works great.
A:AnswerI have same experience. But have only used the washer dryer once. Ours had a noise , but was told the unit was a self balance . Also the Rod that is in place on the bottom side should not be left in place, but removed from the unit and stored away for later reinsert if you was moving from your residence, the rod would need to be reinserted to protect the washer drum from turning and causing damage to the unit , that causes washer to not spin out the water .
A:AnswerHello. We appreciate you reaching out with this great question – we know how important making sure the unit will fit into your space is, and we’re glad to assist. The water hookups on the unit are at 34 3/8” high, so they should be in a good position to meet your hook up. The 4 3/8” that the rear of the dryer extends beyond the rear of the washer is level with the top of the washer, at 32.7”. But although the sides sit further back, the rear is mostly hollow between the washer and dryer to allow for water and electrical hookups, and venting. If it might be helpful, we have a 360 degree view of the model on our GE website; if you look up the model number and go to the product page, there’s a selection of pictures of the model you can scroll through. The 360 views are at the bottom, and you can click on the unit to turn it and see the back. If you’d like to review the Quick Specs and Installation Instructions for this product (which has dimensions/more detailed instructions), those are also linked on the product page on our website. We hope this information is helpful! If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re happy to offer assistance any time. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
