  • Questionis there a model with side venting or knockout panels

    Asked by irish.

    • Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in a unitized washer/dryer unit. The 27" wide unitized washer/dryer units do not have side knockouts. For side venting you would utilize a 90 degree elbow on the vent in the rear to then direct the vent to the left or right. Our 24" wide models do offer side knockouts. Here's one for your consideration: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-unitized-spacemaker-2-3-cu-ft-12-cycle-washer-and-4-4-cu-ft-4-cycle-electric-dryer-combo-white-on-white/6175641.p?skuId=6175641 ---- We hope you find this helpful. • QuestionIs this an HE (high efficiency type) washer/dryer?

    Asked by Cliff.

    • Answer Hi Cliff- GE Unitized Spacemaker GUV27ESSMWW is not HE. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. HE detergents reduce the oversudsing problems commonly associated with regular detergents. WiFi Connect requires Optional Connect Module PBX10W00Y0 (sold separately). • QuestionIs the dryer 220 volt? Does the one cord run both the washer and the dryer?

    Asked by willard.

    • Answer Hi Willard- We are excited to hear of your interest in our GE Unitized Spacemaker® Laundry Unit! Unitized washer dryer units operate on one power cord. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 120/240V or 120/208V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage (240/208). The figure 120/240 simply means one side of the 240 line operates the motor and 240 operates the heaters. The nominal voltage is 240 volt, but homes may have 208V, 220V, or 240V power supply. Any appliance that is rated for 240 volts and can also be used on a 220V or 208V outlet. The power cord should be purchased separately. Thanks for considering GE. SUEatGEA

  • QuestionWe just got done installing this washing machine. After the wash is done and drained the tub starts to fill with water again. It is clean water Bought it in Oct. 2019 but due to Covid just now starting using it. what do I do, do I need a new inlet valve

    Asked by Paula.

    • Answer Hi Paula, thanks for reaching out to us and for being a part of the GE Appliances family! We truly appreciate you choosing this unitized washer and dryer for your home and are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing with water filling into the tub after a wash cycle is complete. We can imagine that this has been concerning and frustrating, especially after having to postpone your installation, and are happy to offer you guidance in this! - It is not uncommon to have a small amount of water at the bottom of the wash basket after a load is complete. This can occur when water becomes trapped in the fill nozzle after filling and the nozzle doesn't immediately drain all of the remaining water and after some time the tension holding in the water breaks and the last amount of water is released. This is similar to the small spurt or burst of water that sometimes comes out of a bathroom shower head after the water is turned off. The amount of water caused by this is typically a 1/2 cup of water or less. - If you are seeing more than a 1/2 cup of water in the bottom of the tub, service may be required. Should this be the case, you can schedule an appointment with GE Factory Service by calling 1-800-432-2737 Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET, Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET, or schedule online. Please feel free to reach back out to us at any time if you have any additional questions or concerns. We sincerely hope that this information is helpful for you. -Eliza@GEA
