A:AnswerHi Theresa - Fill hoses are not included with the washer. We recommend 4 ft Rubber Water Supply Hoses or 4 ft Braided Metal Water Supply Hoses. See page 18 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf - Fill hoses are available through BestBuy. Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
A:AnswerHi Dj - Press Start to begin the cycle. NOTE: If the lid is closed, the lid will lock only during the load sensing portion of the cycle (when the Precise Fill selection is made or models which do not have a load size selection) and during spin portions of the cycle. Lid will unlock after load sensing and spin. Pressing Pause will unlock the lid (if locked at that time), pause the cycle and the Pause indicator light will blink. Press Start/Pause to resume cycle. Note: The machine will automatically drain any time the lid is left open for more than 15 minutes and water is present and it will automatically drain if left in a paused state with the lid closed for more than 24 hours and water is present. You can open the lid during the rinse cycle to add items or pause the cycle. Press Start to resume cycle. Also, the cycle selector knob can be turned in either direction. Turning the knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and change the cycle/options to the new selection. Press Start to begin the new cycle selection. A:AnswerTo my knowledge this machine does have a computer board despite the “old” look with dials. For what I have learned over time almost all manufacturers have opted to using computers to meet the new environmental standards. The model I suggest you look for is made by Speed Queen... although it will cost you more than a pretty penny, it is built like the old Maytag machines were, purely mechanical controls with top of the line materials - made to last through the ages.
A:AnswerHi toughcustomer, thanks for reaching out! Your model has both a Deep Rinse and Deep Fill. The Deep Fill option (not to be confused with Deep Fill Rinse) will add additional water to the wash load, regardless of whether you used a manual or a load-sensing fill. The Deep Fill feature is recommended for special case loads rather than normal use. If you press this button once, it will add 3 gallons to your load. If you press and hold the button for 3 seconds, it will tell the washer to fill to its max capacity. The Deep Fill button is located at the top of the control panel, it is a bigger, round gray button. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
A:AnswerHi Twiggy - Thanks for reaching out to us! On 1995 and newer top load washers, you must remove the shipping material just before sliding the washer into place. There will be either a shipping rod, Styrofoam shipping material, or cardboard base and cardboard cone. Consult your Installation Instructions for removal of the shipping material. Do not remove the shipping material prior to sliding into place, since using the washer on a cart or dolly without it can cause the washer to be noisy and vibrate. Make sure the washer is level. The washer needs to be level and sitting on a good, solid floor. The more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Unbalanced loads can cause the washer to vibrate more. Stop the machine and redistribute the load. See the following link - TOP LOAD WASHER WALKING OR VIBRATING: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 - We hope these tips are helpful. A:AnswerHi there - We're happy to give you more information regarding the Deep fill feature for this washer! The Deep Fill function will add 3 gallons of water to the wash load when you press the button once. If you hold the button for 3 seconds, it will fill the washer to the maximum water level (top of the tub). The lid of the washer must be down whenever you're using Deep Fill, or this feature will not work like it's supposed to. The water can be added after starting the washer/cycle and the water level can be increased any time before the end of the wash phase. Lastly, please keep in mind that the Deep Fill feature is recommended for special case loads only, not for typical use -- We hope this was helpful information. Thank you for being part of the GEA family. - Pablo@GEA
A:AnswerThanks so much for your inquiry and concern. What you are experiencing is normal. The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. Rest assured, however, that your clothes are still being cleaned just as sufficiently as before despite the lower amount of water being used. The Precise Fill feature's water level will be adjusted according to the amount of laundry being washed, along with other selected settings. You are welcome to contact us any time with questions you may have as we are always here to help! -Chris@GEA
A:AnswerI had this issue when I first got my washer a few weeks ago. Turns out the water hoses were not screwed on exactly how it should be. I Unscrewed them, then screwed them back on and no issue with it leaking anymore. Hopefully this is what the issue is with yours as well!
A:AnswerHi MBinIndy - The washer performs spray rinses unless you choose the Deep Rinse option. Deep Rinse should be used when using liquid fabric softener or when a deep fill rinse is needed. When this option is selected, the washer will go into a deep rinse after the agitation cycle (not spray rinse). The amount of water used in the Deep Rinse will match the initial water level in the wash cycle, regardless of whether PreciseFill (Auto-Load Sensing) was used or a manual load size was selected. If 2nd Rinse (or Extra Rinse) and Deep Rinse are both selected, the 2nd or extra rinse is also a deep rinse. Also, you can view the washer filling for the washer cycle at this link: https://youtu.be/ek5wEIxYMSI - Deep Rinse- Play Video: https://youtu.be/fbkVOdkZJ5E -

A:AnswerHi there, and thanks for your interest in this top load washer. We understand the importance of water usage, and are glad to assist. While the exact amount of water used will vary depending on the cycle you select and the items being washed, we can advise the maximum setting fills the same amount as the full Deep Fill, approximately 26 gallons. The Deep Fill/maximum options do fill significantly more than the average wash options, which would be closer to 18 gallons. We hope this information is helpful, and are glad to assist with any other questions or concerns. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerIt depends what cycle you have. HE washer probably takes less time cause its less water. I love my GE HE washer but I got one with an agitator. I agree. An agitator is the best
