    • Answer Yes, this refrigerator does have dual evaporator cooling. For the compressor, it uses a reciprocating compressor, also known as a Scotch Yoke compressor, and it's designed to give years of reliable service.

  • QuestionI would like to buy this fridge but the numerous reports of flooding due to failure of autofill feature to stop when full has left me apprehensive. If I turn that feature off will it still overflow and flood? Is there a guarantee that won’t happen?

  • QuestionDo I have to adjust anything near the ice maker so that it makes ice?

    • Answer Once the water line is connected, press the Ice Maker on the controls to ensure the ice maker is turned on. The small indicator light above the Ice Maker pad will light up when on. When your refrigerator is first installed it will take up to 24 hours for ice production to begin. Additional information is available on page 19 of the online Owner's Manual. To locate the link for the manual, click on the Features tab and scroll to the bottom of the Features list.

    • Answer Only authentic GE Appliances water filters must be used as they contain the RFID leak detecting technology that is designed to pair with this refrigerator. If you do not need or want to use the water filter, a bypass plug can used in place of the filter. If the plastic bypass plug was not supplied with the refrigerator or has been misplaced, one can be ordered at no charge by calling 1-800-GECARES. Lauren@GEAppliances

  • QuestionWhat temperature should the freezer be set for ice cream..?

    • Answer While we don’t recommend a specific temperature, fine quality ice cream with high cream content will normally require slightly lower temperatures than more "airy" packaged brands with low cream content. The coldest location is typically at the rear of the freezer. If your ice cream is too soft, you may need to experiment to determine the best location and temperature control setting to keep your ice cream at the right serving temperature. Lauren@GEAppliances

  • QuestionWhy does the left door with the pitcher close on its own?

    • Answer We recommend checking to be sure your refrigerator is level. The front legs can be adjusted so the refrigerator is firmly positioned on the floor and the front should be raised just enough so that the doors close easily when they are open less than 90°. At 90° or more, the door will remain still or swing open. If you continue to have concerns, we're confident our GE Appliances team of experts at Bodewell can remedy the issue you're having.   • QuestionFor this model, how do I reset the water filter indicator after replacing the water filter?

    • Answer The filter indicator light will reset automatically when the correct filter has been properly installed. Check to be sure you purchased the XWFE filter. Try removing the new filter and reinstalling it. If the light doesn't reset, install the AutoFill pitcher and turn it on to see if the pitcher will fill. If the issue persists, check to see if you can exchange the filter and try it again. If this does not remedy the issue you're having, we recommend contacting our GE Appliances team of experts Bodewell at 1-833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET to have the water filtration system on your lovely refrigerator evaluated and repaired as needed. -Vikki@GEAppliances

  • QuestionDo the doors open wide enough to lay flat? Are the clear drawers in the refrigerator able to be pulled all the way out or will the shelves on the doors be in the way? What is the width measurement when the doors are opened as far as they can go?

    • Answer The door stops are set at 150° and are not adjustable. The contents in the drawers are accessible with the doors open to 90°. To remove the drawers additional clearance is required to any side wall. A minimum of approximately 14" of clearance to a side wall is recommended to have full access to the bins. With the doors open fully, the refrigerator measures 60 3/8" wide. -Vikki@GEAppliances
