- Answer Yes, if you want to substitute for detergent you'll want to add to the powdered detergent section of the drawer. If you are using it as an additive, add it to the pre-wash section of the drawer. Thank you! Joyce@GEAppliances

QuestionWhen stacked, does the control panel for the top unit have an option to be moved to the bottom for access? Or is it controllable from the bottom unit? We will not be able to climb on a ladder.. so I'm assuming there is an option! Thanks.

- Answer Yes, I have not done it yet, but there are instructions in the owners manual that tell you how to set it up and there is a dial setting on the dryer for it. Also, it really would not be super tall without that additional drawer thingy underneath it. That thing raises it up at least a foot and my washer with the dryer stacked on it would not be very tall if I choose to stack it. I prefer having them side by side though.

- Answer If there is an inline filter in the washing machine venting system (question for GE help line) a dusty garage shouldn't be a problem. Keep the door to the garage closed. Helps to sweep out the garage periodically to minimize airborne dust and to prevent tracking dust into areas inside house including where washing machine located.

- Answer Hi - Great question! The "bulky" cycle of this washing machine will use the most water. You can also select the "more water" button for the whites, towels, and bulky cycles. This feature will add approximately 3 gallons of water to each cycle. You can also select the "more water" to the rinse only portion of the cycle.
