A:AnswerHello Dee - Thank you for reaching out about this excellent microwave. We are happy to help find the best option for you.
The cutout opening will help determine the microwave that will fit. Model PEM31SFSS requires a 25" wide and 15" height. The trim kit is an accessory that is required to build this in. Both the 27" and 30" kits will fit the same size cutout. To determine which kit you need, measure your current kit's outer width or the oven it will be installed above. The 27" kit is made to be the same outer width as our 27" wall ovens and likewise with the 30" trim kits and ovens.
You can find the 27" trim kit here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/27-built-in-trim-kit-for-select-ge-microwaves-stainless-steel/9404127.p?skuId=9404127
The 30" kit here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/30-built-in-trim-kit-for-select-ge-microwaves-stainless-steel/4395303.p?skuId=4395303
Thanks! - JB

A:AnswerThis microwave is a bit smaller than your ZEM200. It's a lower profile but just a tad shorter than your 24 3/4" current microwave. I don't know about the trim kit but given your current built in measurements, I believe that a kit will be necessary. Good luck. I love this microwave, it fits nicely in my pantry.
A:AnswerI don't know why you would need to have a 2" clearance on either side other than so the unit doesn't get too hot? With the door to the micro completely open it still maintains it's exact measurement. If that makes any sense. Anyway, the 12 7/8" measurement does not include the plug. The microwave including the plug takes up about 14" on the shelf. Good luck. I love this microwave. It's sleek and clean looking and fits nicely in my pantry shelf which is 16" deep.
A:AnswerI cannot speak to the individual model numbers, but I believe all GE undercounter units are similar size. We replaced a 20 year old one that went bad with one of the only undercounter ones made. We did not need a new installation kit. The brackets from the first worked fine. I did need to drill a new home in one of the brackets as hole for one of the screws on the new unit was 1 inch over.
A:AnswerGE only makes 2 microwaves that are mounted in a cabinet with a trim kit. The less expensive one is not strong enough or deep enough. The expensive one is smaller and may leave a gap in your cabinet between the cabinet and the trim kit since it is smaller. I ended up purchasing a Whirlpool microwave that is the same size and worked with the old GE mounting kit. You will have to modify the old mounting kit to make it work. The Whirlpool microwave does have a mounting kit but it is on back order.
A:AnswerHi there, Markus - Great question! The part numbers for this microwave's trim kits are 27": JX827SFSS 30": JX830SFSS Thanks so much for checking! -Mikayla
A:AnswerI cannot speak to your specific model number, but I just replaced a 20 year old GE with a new one. The two steel brackets inside the cabinet worked fine. Did not need any new mounting kit. Needed to drill one hole in the bracket where a screw did not line up. I believe GE makes these so the screws are in the same alignment and position on most models.
A:AnswerHi Hopkins! Thanks for your question. Model number PEM31EFES would be a good replacement for your current model. Stay safe. - Emily

A:AnswerThe turntable dish does come out for cleaning, but it is designed to fit over the roating central element on the floor of the oven. The instructions say the dish needs to be there when using the oven, so, no you cannot heat things without it. Anyway, a larger dish would not fit in this small oven--get a larger oven if you want to do that.
