QuestionI have one flood light installed and didn’t have any issues connecting to the WiFi. I installed the second unit and I can’t get online. I have tried all the normal things, reset the router,checked the wiring, moved the WiFi extender, changed the camera.

- Answer I'm running two of the Nest cams with flood without issue. Try deleting the one that works and then try adding the one you cannot connect. Not sure if there is a conflict happening. I added both of mine while I had them inside the house before mounting them outside. I take it doesn't matter how far you are from the wifi source that you're unable to connect?

QuestionMy house was built in the '60s and most of the wiring lacks a ground wire. Is it possible to install this without ground wires?

- Answer Yes. The ground would just screw to the base plate in this case but does not effect the operation.

QuestionMy current flood light is controlled by an on/off switch inside my house. Is there a way to keep the camera on 24/7, but control the flood lights manually with the switch? If not, would I just need to keep my switch in the "ON" position all the time?

- Answer Prior to the installation of my floodlight camera, I purchased a WiFi smart light switch from my local hardware store and set it to turn off at sunrise and on at sunset. The battery in the camera itself is easily strong enough to work throughout the day while the switch isn’t on. I’ve used it this way for over a month so far with no issues whatsoever.

- Answer Yes, there is a battery that can be charged when the fixture is on as well. Right now, I have two sets of lights on the same power line. So when I switch on the power, both the old and new flood light will turn on. I will need to replace my old flood light bulbs with smart ones to keep the line on.

- Answer Both the camera and floodlight have sensors. The floodlights can turn on independently of the camera, but will also come on if the camera senses motion. The floodlights have an option where you specify Brighter, Medium (default), Darker, and Darkest. We have ours set for Medium, which waits until it is now dark. It then continues to work until it is no longer dark out. I haven't tried the other options since Medium works perfectly for us.

- Answer Not an official answer, but I'd bet not at all. The floodlight is designed to wire (as in, using stripped wires and wire nuts in an electrical junction box inside a wall) into the mains power (120V AC, not DC as I would expect the solar panel to natively supply), and will not accept a USB-style plug. Given that the floodlight kit appears to be an unmodified Google Wired Cam plus a Floodlight body, the "cam" part probably could be powered by an upcoming solar panel intended for this purpose. However, then you would lose the "floodlight" part (well, you would need it to be there to mount the camera on unless you come up with another magnet for that purpose, but it wouldn't have any power to it).

If you want to install the floodlight in an area that doesn’t have an existing power connection and you need a junction box installed. - Answer The lights have will go on for 10s, 30s, 1m, 3m, or 5m. You can change it in the settings of the lights. If you are asking how long the battery life last after the power goes out. I do not know that answer.

QuestionWhy is this product not compatible with the Nest app? I track all my Nest devices easily in the Nest app and avoid using Google Home because it is cumbersome and requires many more steps to do what the Nest app does quickly. Please advise if fix is coming

- Answer One App to rule them all, One App to find them, One App to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them! It's rumored that Google will eventually get rid of the Nest App and everything will need to be controlled through the Google Home app. They did this with Google WiFi and it seems they are doing it with Nest.
