- Answer Just like it’s outdoor cameras, I think it can take raindrops but it’s always recommended to have some little barrier on top even if it’s a small shade just to bounce any strong water flushes. If I look at the unit, it’s tightly sealed so it should be Ok. It’s a different case if you have like continuous dripping that goes straight to the unit like a water faucet.

QuestionYour specs show the Google Nest Doorbell width to be .94 and the depth to be 1.9. Do you have those two reversed? I am looking to install a doorbell in a very think space. Does the mount have to be screwed in or can it be adhesive?

QuestionWhen I go to attach my Nest battery operated doorbell to my metal door it says it is not attached. Also the video works well until it is attached to the metal door and then I have no video even though I have a strong wireless connection.

Although the doorbell can run on battery alone, you can connect your doorbell to a power outlet with the optional power adapter to keep the battery charged. You still have basic motion detection, watch live feed, and get videos up to 3 hours in the past, which will automatically expire and be deleted after 3 hours. QuestionCame with only the charging USB cord. What is the specs (range volts & amps) of the wall charging adapter to use with this cord? NO INFO ANYWHERE. What is the google wall adapter model number? Said use compatible adapter but no specs. Frustrating.

QuestionMy existing doorbell chime (electric) says "must install diode" on the back, and there is a 1N4001 diode installed in my existing doorbell button. Do I need to use the diode in my installation of the Nest Doorbell if I'm hard wiring it to my chime?

- Answer Thanks for asking. To remove the Nest Doorbell (battery), use the release tool included in the box. If you don't have the tool, you can use a flathead screwdriver. Insert the tool or screwdriver into the hole at the top of the doorbell, then pull the doorbell up and away from the wall.
