- Answer you need not remove brush, just use 1st of 2 positions on control. Brush will not spin.at that setting.

QuestionIs this vacuum powerful enough to pick up rock salt that gets tracked in from de-icing the walk? Will it pick up small pieces of paper such as paper punches?

- Answer Hey AuntD, Thank you for your question! The Hoover LiNX Signature is powerful enough to lift and remove surface debris and deeply embedded dirt from your floors and carpet. If the salt and the paper are dry then they should get picked up easily by the LiNX Signature. It also sounds like you may be looking for a commercial vacuum. QuestionCan I also use it on carpets? I have a small space, floor and carpet cleaning needed. I had a great Royal stick for four years, worked great on both but just died.

QuestionCan you use this vacuum on shag carpet?

- Answer I have used it on shag carpet by lightly going over it quickly using the higher setting but it really isn't meant for this type of carpeting. It does work but be careful not to overwork the vacuum on type of carpet. You will find that you will need to empty the cannister often.

- Answer You may want to turn the vacuum over and check the brush to see if there’s hair tangled around it, especially on the very ends were the brush pops into the vacuum cleaner. If there is a lot of hair you will need to get a pair of needle nose pliers and just start pulling it off and that should help that problem!

- Answer This vacuum cleaner is good for bare floors and rugs. The vacuum cleaner ON / OFF switch has 2 positions. 1. Suction "ON" with no-spinning bar. Suction "On" with spinning bar spinning like mad. Just use the mode with spinning bar off. This vacuum does a wonderful job on carpets. Also does a good job in households with Pets.

- Answer Hi MollieCat! Sorry to hear that your LiNX Rechargeable Stick Vacuum has stopped working. However, both vacuums do take the same battery, which is an 18 volt Lithium Ion battery.

- Answer I think it's just the color. My old Linx is a 50010 and has a gray head, my new one is 50020 and has a back head. That's the only difference I can tell.

- Answer The dirt canister is very difficult to remove and difficult to replace securely. It'll look like it is seated properly but then will pop out when vacuuming in the upright position and almost always if you touch the top while vacuuming under beds and low tables. The latch is also very, very difficult to open and we broke ours today trying to open the latch. We're past the return date so lost a lot of money on this shoddy vacuum.
