- Answer According to HP, as long as you are careful with the ports on the motherboard, you can upgrade the RAM and the hard drive and it will not void the warranty.

- Answer this laptop can handle Minecraft if you adjust your graphics settings in Minecraft. I have played Minecraft with my customized settings I get 60fps which is more than playable. IT CANNOT HANDLE AAA though. But it can run some older titles fine just not graphically intensive.

Questionpardon my ignorance but i need a lap top that is mobile and can generate its on wifi and or gateway so i can go on the internet will out in the field. can this unit do that?

- Answer This laptop only has WiFi. In order to use it in the field, you would need to connect to a WiFi network somewhere or a hotspot.

- Answer It came out about August 2019. I am guessing that it may be a "limited time" offering, as it is usually priced about $100 or $200 less than comparable laptops. It is sometimes on sale for $199 and for basic school work and basic office type work it is equal to laptops in the $400 to $600 range.

QuestionDoes this have space to add a sata hard drive keeping the original ssd in its place? I want to add more storage without having to replace the ssd. Just add a internal sata for more storage. And is it 3.5 or 2.5 drive?

- Answer The hard drive that is installed is a Solid State Drive 128GB 2280 M2 SATA3 TLC (part number L25981-001). It almost looks like a RAM stick but it has the chip is on the short end rather than the long end. So it is neither a 2.5 or 3.5 drive. There is no room for a 2nd hard drive.

- Answer Yes, this laptop would be good for a first time on line college student. It is "a lot of laptop" for the money. Fast processor, adequate RAM (upgradeable), and a fast SSD (solid state drive). Storage memory can also be easily expanded with an inexpensive SD or microSD card, placed in the SD card slot. An inexpensive external DVD/CD drive ($20 at BestBuy) can be attached easily if occasionally needed to load programs (apps, to you young folk) off DVD or CD. Lightweight and easy to carry. It I were in the market for a laptop that provided the most bang for my buck, this is the one I would buy!

- Answer Yes, I am running Pop! OS (System 76's revision of Ubuntu). I wrote a blog post about it but can't link to it here. Bottom line: This is a great Linux laptop. The only hiccup is getting the wifi card working. My laptop has a Realtek RTL8723DE. Search for this with instructions of how to get it working in Ubuntu and you'll find an article on how to do it on the ubuntu handbook website. Also, once you've got it open it is easy to add another 8GB of RAM (12GB total) or two 8GB dimms (replace the included 4GB) for 16GB total. It uses a standard m2 NVME stick so you could swap that for a 256/512/1TB model. The wifi card is modular so it can be replaced. There is also a large cavity where a hard drive would have gone in the past - under the right palm rest - and an extra M2 storage connector. I haven't tried it but I suspect you could pop some sort of thin SSD in there for an extra TB or so of storage as well.

- Answer This laptop would not work well with the game. You would benefit from a better processor like the Intel i5-8400 or better and a discrete graphics like the Nvidia GeForce 1070Ti or better. The requirement is 8 gigabytes of RAM.

- Answer This laptop is FAST. From the moment you press the power button to surfing the web or running Microsoft word/powerpoint is a few seconds. Keep in mind this is a very basic laptop and not meant to run power hungry software. If you are using this for school, its perfect.
