A:Answer Battery life is very much impacted by how you are using your HP 14. If you are typing a document at night with the screen at a very low brightness level and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned OFF, you could get six hours to eight hours per charge. At the other extreme, if you are streaming Netflix movies over Wi-Fi with Bluetooth driving your Bluetooth speakers and have you have screen brightness set at the highest level, you will get two or three hours per charge.
Another factor is major software updates. With new and newish computers, Microsoft is often downloading massive software updates in the background while you are doing other things. At some point, Windows begins installing the updates, and that process is very battery intensive (and can GREATLY slow down your computer while you are web browsing with 10 or 12 tabs open). So, a person might be getting only two or three hours per charge for the first two or three weeks they use their new laptop, and then battery life suddenly improves to four or five hours after the major updating is complete.
