QuestionWhat applications are installed on this laptop? Its always a mystery for some reason and should be listed on the "whats included" portion of the specifications. I may upgrade to a different unit if i see something that i need or want rather than guessing.

- Answer Hello Carl! Windows 10 Home includes around 30 built-in apps on its own. HP also provides several apps including the HP Support Assistant. Additionally, you will receive 1-month trials for pre-installed McAfee LiveSafe, Netflix, and Microsoft 365 with this laptop. Have a great day!

- Answer The more recent, and second, 2-pager spec-sheet, timestamped '03/9/2021_r5 kc' says 5.94 lbs... (The 1st 2-pager, one month earlier, did say 5.6...)

- Answer Hello, Alan! Thank you for your question. Your HP Envy laptop (17m-ch0013dx) offers a backlit keyboard. The F5 key should have a symbol of a keyboard. It can be pressed repeatedly to cycle through the various settings. If this does not solve your problem, please reach out to our support team.

- Answer No, there will be no problem with the computer itself. Depending on what services you're using, things may be blocked in your country. But you can always set up a VPN if necessary so the website thinks you're in whatever country you'd need to be in to receive them.

- Answer Yes, there is an internal fan, which will vary it's speed depending on the load put on the computer. I've never found the fans to more than noticeable unless you're running the computer at 100% of its capacity for an extended period.

- Answer Mine do esthe same thing, but I don't understand why anybody would need the lights on if they are not typing. As long as you are typing the backlights are on.

QuestionI’m going to purchase the HP envy 17.3 touchscreen I want to upgrade to 16 G of RAM and also 1 terabyte hard drive and then possibly an extended battery can anyone tell me what kind of hardware I will need for to have installed so It will B ready.

- Answer According to the HP Support Assistant and the HP Support page, you can upgrade your RAM but I don't see a max. There are two slots. One has 8 GM and the other has 4 GB RAM so as a minimum you can go to 16 GB, and I suspect you can go higher. I do'n't see that there is an extra slot for another hard drive, though I suppose if you wanted to replace the current SSD you could. I've never had room for more than one drive in a laptop. I know nothing about extended batteries. Sorry.
