Q: QuestionIs there a service manual available yet for this model, the 2020 model with the 4000 series were initially stated to not being able support ram beyond 16gb but this ended up not being the case. I own a 2020 4700u that i expanded to a 1 tb ssd and 34gb ram

• A:Answer Hi Joshua. I did not find a Service Guide for this newer model. I have escalated the request to HP. Thanks for your interest in this model. I know from my training that this model comes with "up to 16 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM".

Q: Questioncan dual monitor setup be done thru the hdmi plus the c-port and/or can you use a dock off the c-port for dual monitor plus other peripherals?

• A:Answer So the HP answer is partially correct. You can do a dual or triple monitor setup with this laptop. Just be careful what kind of docking station you buy. The AMD version of this laptop does not support Thunderbolt, the Intel version does. Either laptop will support DisplayLink or Alt Mode docks. Only the Intel supports Thunderbolt docks.

Q: QuestionDoes this support 32GB RAM user upgradability? Even if "informally" or "unofficially". Please HP, please straightforward because you always say it's not possible to get up to 32GB. Someone please set the record straight!

• A:Answer Yes it supports 32 GB. Just make sure it is DDR4 3200 Mhz SODIMM CL22 260 pin. I bought 2X Crucial CT16G4SFRA32A and now have 32 GB.

• A:Answer Thank you for your question! The video card cannot be upgraded as it is integrated rather than dedicated/separate from the processor, although you could purchase an eGPU setup if you wish. Without a dedicated graphics card, this would not be considered a gaming computer, but you would still be able to play some lower-spec games such as Minecraft and Fortnite.
