The "s" after the HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw or M234sdwe model number means the printer has an ADF (auto document feeder) that allows you to scan or copy multiple pages. The ADF holds up to 40 pages at a time. The "d" after the model's name indicates that the printer has a duplexer. A duplexer allows you to print double-sided. The "w" means that the printer has wireless (both through WiFi and WiFi direct) and network (or ethernet) capabilities. The "e" (which you are asking about, but not on this specific model) means you can opt-in for the service via the free HP Smart App and get a commitment free trial for HP Instant Ink. You also get a 2nd year of the manufacturer's warranty and advanced scanning features through HP Plus with the "e" model.

• A:Answer Thank you for the question. When setting up the printer, can can opt out of Instant Ink (not accept the free ink/toner trial). If you opt-in and decide that you want to cancel later, you can log in to your account and cancel the service. Note that once canceled, the cartridges will be rendered inoperable and you'll need to replace them with regular retail cartridges.

Q: QuestionI was able to successfully print on Day one, now every attempt to print, I get an error message saying the printer is offline or that the driver is unfound?

• A:Answer I had a lot of trouble with two of three laptops in the initial setup- finding the printer failed repeatedly, then print jobs would queue but never print, throwing error messages that explain nothing. The solution that worked for me was to completely remove the HP app on my affected laptops, then reboot completely and reinstall the HP app from a fresh download. It now works reliably and windows immediately finds the printer each time on all machines. Follow the original steps that came with the printer after your fresh install of the HP software as if you just unpacked the printer. Annoying, but it worked for me.

Q: QuestionIs it auto scanner? I wanted to print from the feeder double sided auto. It does not do even in a request session for technical support. I have to do the back side manually. It should not advertise it is auto scanner. Thanks

• A:Answer Hello and thank you for asking. The HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw has an automatic document feeder for scanning single sided documents. To scan a 2-sided document, you will need to manually reverse the pages. HP does have muti-function printers with automatic 2-sided scanning, but the M234sdw is not one of them.

• A:Answer Yes it is. I have my LaserJet M234sdw in the next room from my laptop -- a distance of about 12 feet. I don't know what a good maximum distance, but you can probably gat that information from Best Buy or HP customer service. It's also in the printed guide that came with the printer, but am unable to find it now.
