A:AnswerThank you for the question. To function as HP engineered the laptop, 32GB of RAM is the maximum recommended. 64GB RAM is the maximum for the motherboard, but it may be overkill. The 12th-generation i9 processor has a hybrid architecture that invokes E and P cores making good use of the installed RAM and making large upgrades unnecessary in some cases.
A:AnswerModern units have to meet a specific decibel rating for sound and most aim to be below that volume even when running at high settings. You can also make further adjustments using the OMEN Gaming HUB to further reduce the frequency of the fan running. Better open-air ventilation will also help the fans run less.
A:AnswerYou would not want to use a 65w USB C charger with this OMEN unit. These use a 280w standard since this unit has the 4 cell, 70 WH Li-ion polymer battery. You can use a Thunderbolt 4 charger if it supports up 280w if you would prefer a more universal charger.
A:AnswerI had this computer for about 3 weeks now.
I went to go set this or turn on and as far as I can tell it does not light up. There's no option under lighting. Only the option to change colors and patterns for keyboard.
A:AnswerCS Student here. I use Linux as a main OS but I always have a dual boot with Windows just in case and it works perfectly. I was super happy with the performance. As I said, I am also a student, and is not the most convenient laptop to carry around, but I am speaking from the perspective of someone who doesn't play video games. Maybe the size and the weight of both laptop and charger is a price that you are willing to pay in order to play video games.
