QuestionI saw this has 2 m.2 slots for one extra nvme i could not find it. Does this model have a 2nd slot or am i missing it. (Not the hdd)

- Answer There are two, but the second one is in use; the RealTek controller that controls WiFi and Bluetooth is in that slot out of the box. If you plan to connect via Ethernet and you don't need/want Bluetooth, you can remove the RealTek controller to free up that port. Otherwise, you have a 3.5" SATA bay you can use for a SATA SSD instead.

QuestionI have multiple questions, 1. What form factor is the case? I am looking to upgrade the motherboard. 2. Is the GPU the same GPU you buy off the NVIDIA website, or is it slightly different? 3. How do you change the RAM lights and case lights?

- Answer GPU is a single fan RTX 2060 6gb. Not sure of the make, but it does have two clamps for small and large GPU cards to prevent sagging. Very nice feature!

QuestionIf I were to upgrade the RAM to two 16 Gb sticks and upgrade the graphics card to the NVIDIA RTX 3080, would I need to upgrade my power supply or is it sufficient for those upgrades? Thank you!

- Answer If you want a 3000 series card you're going to have to upgrade the PSU as the recommended is 750w and the one installed is 500w. As for the memory you want more than 64gb or to support quad-channeling, you would also need to upgrade the motherboard as the stock one only has 2 dimm slots which I found disappointing but its more than efficient enough for streaming most games at 1080p on high settings.

- Answer The 3080 and 3090 cards generally require a 750 watt power supply, and this model has a 500 watt supply. However, there are versions of the Omen 30L that ship with a 750 watt power supply. That's probably the version of the computer that the article was talking about.

- Answer This computer actually comes with 16 gigabytes of RAM, in two 8 gigabyte modules. You can upgrade it to 32 gigabytes of RAM by getting two 16 gigabyte DDR4-3200 modules

- Answer It can, but if you ever have issues, they'll want the original card back in the PC. So beware of doing any updates to this "gaming PC". I updated PSU and cooling, and they want me to send the whole thing back in stock state, likely because they will swap it with a refurb or replacement. Not good for gamers who like to upgrade things.

- Answer Yes any ram that is not purchased from HP themselves will have to be OC'ed to get their base speed from them. You have to use a program called Ryzen Master to do it. It is not difficult and there are a couple of YouTube videos on the process. The reason for this is because the bios is locked down by HP so you can not switch the ram to the XMP process.

QuestionToday for some reason the cpu temperature has been going 80+ celcius and usually my cpu temperature during apex is around 70 celcius. Can you tell me what the ideal temperature? And if it is overheating what can I do?

- Answer AMD processors are known to run warmer to cooling them is essential. Critical Temps are 90+. In general the system will self regulate and prevent overheat but will sacrifice performance. You can use the Omen Command center to set the fans to turbo mode. This holds the fans at a higher rpm to help dissipate heat. Also make sure all fans are running (if not check to make sure the fan connections to the motherboard are snug by simply pressing each one down all the way) There is also a fan bracket on the inside top of the case that has 4 punch out holes that don't come punched out so you can take the 2 philips head screws out to remove this bracket and keep it out or if you plan on adding an additional case fan at some point you can simply knock out those punch out plates and reinstall the bracket. Finally note that the cpu temp listed in the Omen Command center is not always accurate, you can use Ryzen Master to get a second opinion (I've seen 10+ C° difference in reported cpu temps with the omen command center reporting higher temps)

QuestionI would like to replace the 256 GB SSD.,with a bigger one.It,says the drive that came with the computer is an NVMe. the drive has NVMe printed on the label But it has 2 slots, most NVme drive have one slot.Will a NVMe drive with one slot work?

- Answer I had the same question & from what I've looked up the slots you're referring too are called B&M keys , the computer comes with a Western Digital M.2 NVMe with the B&M keys on it but you can use a SSD with just an M key, this motherboard supports both. I ended up getting a 1TB Samsung evo 970 NVMe and it works perfectly & writes/reads faster than the WD.
