A:Answerno. you would need to buy it outright w/a cd or pay a subscription. I always like to have the cd just in case i need it. you can also get the download version only
A:AnswerThis could just be a factor of the specific 13" being a slightly newer model. The variations aesthetically are pretty small. The best bet is to compare the model number with what HP is currently producing to find out when these two laptops were produced. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerYes, it was in PRISTINE condition. I have been using it for the last 3 months and performs flawlessly. I would not have know it was an open box unit if it was not labeled as such. LOVE IT!!!
A:AnswerWilly,
I asked about the student discount when I purchased my unit and apparently it ended in August. However, it is currently on sale for $100 off. As far as your question about music production, the performance will depend upon the hardware requirements of the software you are using. The internal speakers (which I'm sure you will be using studio monitors) are terrible, but it does have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. In addition, you may need to purchase an external hard drive because this unit is equipped with a 512 gb SSD. Personally, I would suggest a Macbook Pro due to the Logic Pro software unless you are loyal to a particular OS.
A:AnswerYup go into bios and disable action key or something titles very similay. Did it on mine. When turbed on right away hit escape a few times and then menu comes up to access bios, allows for fn to activate functions and have fkeys available without being buried under an extra fn key press
A:AnswerThe battery lasts so long that you really don't need to leave it plugged in all the time.
Plus, it charges fast. I love this computer and do a lot of heavy work on it all the time.
I don't know if leaving it plugged in would hurt it, I think it would, but with the charge time and battery lasting long I wouldn't risk it.
A:AnswerThe pen is very natural. I am terrible at signing credit card screens for purchases. This is much more natural. My advise is to go to a store with one on display and try it. The associate that helped me was very patient in letting me test it.
A:AnswerMost screens are measured diagonally, from one corner to another. If you measure from the top left corner to the bottom right corner you will get 15.6. I would not consider it misleading because most laptops, tablets, and phones are measured like this.
