Will most likely work better if you place by a window, but its reception is dependent on conditions, so hook it up where you want it and see how many channels you can draw in. I am facing away from the mountain with the repeater and have a brick home and trees all around. The antenna is inside and about 2 ft from the window and 6 ft high.
