• A:Answer For me it was easy. My laptop has one HDMI port, so one monitor plugs into that. Then I plugged this mini dock into my laptop USB 3.0 port, and plugged my second monitor into the mini port HDMI port. No set up or configuration was needed. It just worked. No sluggishness, no slow-down, no disadvantages that I've noticed so far. Perfect for adding a second monitor!

Q: QuestionDoes this only add a second monitor to the laptop or can I use it to add two external monitors and not use my laptop monitor at all?

• A:Answer Yes. That's pretty much my setup. You'll need to go into your power settings if you're going to use the laptop with lid closed since it will go into sleep mode unless disabled. Once you get you monitors connected, press Window Key + P and select Extend Display.
