A:Answer You can use any USB charger that doesn't output more than 5.5v.
My only complaint about the X3s at this time is the need for a separate piece of proprietary hardware which Jaybird calls a “charging clip” to charge the X3 earbuds.
While Jaybird probably made the change to using a “charging clip” to reduce the width of the X3 earbuds and make the X3 earbuds lighter and more durable; If you lose, misplace or simply do not have this “charging clip” with you, then you will not be able to charge the X3 earbuds.
As of this writing ( 2016-11-20 ) the Jaybird “charging clip” is not available anywhere for purchase including from Jaybird so make sure, if you purchase the X3s, that you do not lose or misplace the “charging clip”.
Once the “charging clips” are available for purchase as an accessory, I’m going to get several of them for each of my vehicles, my laptop bag, for home & work and one to carry with me.
I’ll attach the “charging clip” to the end of the Micro USB cables and secure the “charging clip” to the cable using the lanyard that is physically a part of the “charging clip”. Should the “charging clip” ever come loose or unplugged from the Micro USB, it’ll still be attached ( tied ) to the Micro USB end of the cable via the lanyard.
