• A:Answer Without knowing exactly which model of Envy you have, the most important thing is that the dock connects by USB 3.0, so if your Envy doesn't have any spare USB 3.0 ports, that would be a problem. This would be the old style, larger USB port. Some laptops these days only have USB-C ports, which wouldn't work for this dock, at least without some converters.

Q: Questionwould this work along side a hdmi built into a laptop and would this support a monitor with a VGA connection to where I can have 2 monitors hooked up to a laptop w/only 1 hdmi and no VGA connection?

• A:Answer When you plug this into the USB 3.0 port of your laptop, you will gain a DVI (or VGA via included adapter) port and a separate HDMI port for two monitors via this device. If your laptop has a HDMI out port, you may be able to add a third monitor to that port, allowing a total of four displays (which includes your laptop display). So, with this device, you can connect to a VGA monitor, even if your laptop does not have a VGA port on it.
