- Answer berk, the downdraft has a 3-speed fan control that can be adjusted to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air. - Answer Most probably. Keep in mind that this type of cooktop has a large exhaust fan that takes space.

- Answer I have not had it that long but most of the surface seems scratch resistant but i’m Careful to lift my pans not drag them. This cooktop does need cleaning with glass cooktop cleaning after every use but I imagine all glass cooktops do! There aren’t many choices for downdrafts that I was replacing.

QuestionDo you disconnect and dispose of old gas unit when installing ?

- Answer Did not have gas unit, electric unit installed. The first 3 units that the installer attempted to install were all defective. However, the 4th one was installed and works well. My only complaint: It scratches easily so you have to be very careful when placing cookware on it. Otherwise, it is ok.
