Please try again later.The downdraft range is a fairly complicated installation since the venting, gas and electrical connections all need to coexist in a tight space under the range. I made my island installation a bit easier by designing a wide island and giving myself some additional space to work behind the unit. Your question provides limited detail to fully address the inquiry. In principle, however, I’m not sure why you couldn’t down vent the unit with your type of foundation. As long as you can get the venting, electric and gas all in the right locations there should be no difference from other basements. If something is poorly located it should be possible to correct the situation from above by cutting the floor.
