A:AnswerThe unit has a fan on the top that can be adjusted to vent to the outside. The unit comes with the vent set to recirculating. When installed yesterday, the tech was able to simply flip the fan to emit externally through my wall vent.
You can see the vent on the top of the unit. A couple of screws to loosen, flip the fan, and you're all set. For me, I already had the external vent set up in the wall.
Hope that helps.
A:AnswerYes, the timer works just fine while the Microwave oven is cooking.
My only complaint about this unit is the door is really wide and I have to lean back to open the door. If you have young kids they might hang on the door opening it. So I'm guessing this might be a problem as the unit gets older.
I have the microwave venting to the outside of the house out the rear of the microwave. This allows me to get all the kitchen smells and smoke out of the kitchen. It does a great job removing smoke from the normal stove.
I do have this unit mounted over the stove.
Over all I like this microwave.
A:AnswerYes it is a microwave, air fryer, and also has a bake/convection mode.
The microwave and bake/convection modes are awesome and heat items up really quickly.
Airfryer is so so- takes a really long time, I don't feel like things get as crispy my countertop InstantPot Air Fryer.
A:AnswerYea it has a fan and can vent to outside as that is our setup. The fan can also come on automatically when the stovetop is in use if you set it up in the app.
A:AnswerN0, no way to do that, that is a big issue I have with this unit, not impressed with this microwave in any shape or form, my 25-year-old convection made this one look like a joke. Still worked just thought I would get a new one. Gave that one to my daughter she is still using it. Mine was a bad install after they finally got somebody to show up, finally gave up tired of no call no show installers, Best Buy doesn't seem to care about people's situations, they will tell you they're sorry for your bad experience, a lot of good that does. I also am a total Tech member, for what good that did me. Would not recommend anybody to buy this unit, user unfriendly as far as I am concerned. Scanning barcodes on products show the microwave will set itself up to cook product is a joke, always says things are not listed. Wi-Fi is a joke, too many buttons to be pushing to get what you want, if you have any low light you can't read the buttons, yeah doesn't have an air Fry Basket doesn't air fry well at all. If I could have got this installed properly in a reasonable time, and was able to start really using it, I'm pretty sure I would have taken it back, disappointment is just scraping the surface. Still not installed properly, whines with the fan on, not much of a manual sent with it, no type of cookbook of any sort.
Hope this helped, if it's still under warranty, I believe to yourself a favor and take it back, look at KitchenAid or something else.
A:AnswerIf you’re using the convection-only mode, you shouldn’t need to use a turntable, since the function of forced-air convection is to blow the heated air around to make heating and cooking more even, and the function of a turntable when using the microwave-only mode is to turn the food so the microwaves will more evenly hit the food. So they both end up doing the same thing. 9X13 will fit nicely into the chamber, but you have to remove the glass turntable. ^Danee

A:AnswerThere is no difference in my experience. I own an air fryer and this. It doesn’t do nearly as good of a job as an air fryer. It takes double the time to do similar results. I was disappointed as I was hoping to get rid of my air fryer but it remains.
A:AnswerYes you can install without the app and use as a regular Microwave No need to connect to WiFi
You do get an additional one year warranty when you install the app and register product
A:AnswerHello there, Knaq. We appreciate your interest in the LG MHEC1737F Over-the-Range Microwave with Air Fry. We understand your situation and your desire to manually adjust time and temperature while using the air fry feature. While the unit includes convenient Air Fry presets designed to optimize cooking performance, it does not currently support fully manual temperature input in Air Fry mode through the front control panel.
However, for customized cooking, we recommend using the Convection Bake function instead. This allows you to set both time and temperature—similar to a traditional oven—and still achieve that crispy air-fried result, especially when used with the included Air Fry Tray or heavy-duty racks.

A:AnswerYes, it is a microwave and performs all the microwave functions you would expect. It does have additional functions as well. I'm still learning those bot am very pleased with everything it offers in addition to being a microwave.
