QuestionDoes the LED display on the sound bar turn off after you adjust your settings or volume? Or is it constantly on?

- Answer It does not it is always on it does however dim after you make your adjustment

- Answer HDMI is a possible connection you can use from it to the tv, you will need to buy or use a spare hdmi cable though

QuestionDoes it have a dialog/voice setting since we mainly watch news and Movies? And if it does, does the setting "stick" vs reverting back. (Unlike the Bose Solo 5 which reverts back -a royal pain)

- Answer Hi there! It does have pre programmed settings you can use, and in those, it also has an equalizer that lets you change the woofer, treble, base, and rear speaker settings (if you have those) so you can make your own voice settings or however you like it. It will save your EQ settings on that specific programmed setting until you change it again :)

QuestionI am trying to decide between purchasing the LG SJ5Y-S and SJ4Y-S. Spec wise the SJ5Y is 320W which seems to be due to the subwoofer being rated for 200W instead of 180W for the SJ4Y. Is there any significant difference in the soundbar to consider?

- Answer I went for the SJ5Y-S because it was more powerful but also because I liked the look of it better and also the digital readout in the front. It also had more positive and less negative reviews than the SJ4Y-S. They seem to have worked out any of those issues. It's a great soundbar for my purposes and feel it was worth the extra money. I'm very happy with it.

QuestionI heard there is an issue were it keeps searching for sub woofer ..and needs to be updated on line. Reason I heard is that it keeps searching for the extra speakers that you can also add to it. I do not want to go into all that. is this one updated/fixed?

- Answer I am answering my own question to help anyone out after speaking with LG..any models dated 7/17 and up have already been updated is what I was told..its near the serial numbers..just got home from buying one myself..good luck

- Answer Yes, it will work with 55" TV as long as TV has HDMI/ARC, Optical, or if its a LG it will also work on Bluetooth. If you are not sure, go to the TV's website and get the owners manual and see if your TV has the options listed.

- Answer There is an optical cable included that should suffice for your basic needs - check to ensure your television has an appropriate connection. It also has wireless sound capability if you prefer that route - again, check to ensure your television has the appropriate capability.

- Answer I don't think it's enough sound for the space you are using. I have this sounds bar in a small game room in my house which is sufficient. Hope this helps!

- Answer Did you rename the update file to match the unit's model. Just need to change one letter. Its in the instructions n the same page you download the file from. Make sure the unit is turned on and the USB mode selected BEFORE inserting the thumb drive that has the file on it.

QuestionDo you have to buy the extra speakers for this to be loud? I'm maxed out at 38! That's not even loud.. not pleased at all. Am I missing something?

- Answer I found that connecting the sound bar to to my TV's HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) gave much louder sound than when it was connected via the Optical output of the TV.

- Answer I think it'd be perfect for it. I'm using it in my bedroom with a 43" Samsung tv and it has plenty of power, good sound and works very well with the TV. The instructions that come with it are terrible but the downloaded version is much better.

- Answer I hooked my sound bar to a 50" LG Smart TV and found that the sound is much better when using the ARC. Optical connections do not handle sound as well as ARC.
