A:Answer I would not personally cut out granite, but would seek advice of a granite company to come and check whether the particular cut of granite I currently have could withstand being cut to allow for a larger opening without risking damaging the overall piece of granite. If the granite specialist agreed there would be minimal risk, I would have the granite company make any cuts as long as they would cover any costs, if granite is damaged.
