Ft, but an 8000 BTU air conditioner can cool a space ranging from 200 to 550 square feet, depending on factors like insulation, window size, and occupancy. The average of 200 Sq. Ft. and 550 Sq. Ft. is 375 Sq. Ft, but as a general rule, about 20 BTUs of cooling are required per square foot of space.
