  • QuestionHow do I operate the washer & dryer?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer What I do is use the wash + dry setting. After wash, I pause and put in a dryer sheet and continue drying. You have to be patient cos it takes time to completely dry your laundry. Other than that, it’s excellent!

  • QuestionThere is much emphasis on energy savings which is very important to me but am curious as to how much water an average load uses? Thank you!

    Asked by newowner.

    • Answer Hi, With LG’s Inverter HeatPump™ technology, you’ll enjoy quiet operation and the greatest energy efficiency of any washer/dryer combo available—using up to 60% less energy with every load compared to similarly-sized vented LG dryers. This is based Energy Star test procedures (November 2023). The washer for the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™ Technology and Direct Drive Motor, Model # WM6998HBA has an Annual Washer Energy Use (kWh/yr) of 99 kWh/yr, including the energy used by the washer and the energy needed to heat the water used by the washer with an electric water heater. This is based on an annual usage of 295 loads per year or around 6 loads per week, as referenced by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure. The dryer has an Annual Dryer Energy Use (kWh/yr) of 380 kWh/yr based on 283 cycles per year, as referenced by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure. Your actual energy consumption for the washer and dryer will vary on your usage patterns, including how often your run the washer or the dryer, which cycle you select, and your load size. The Estimated annual water usage for the washer based on an annual usage of 295 loads per year, or around 6 loads per week as referenced by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure is 4,235 gallons per year. Unlike a conventional electric or gas dryer that draws in cool air from your home and expels warm, moist air through a vent, a heat pump dryer circulates warm air within a self-contained system, eliminating the need for an exhaust vent. The dryer uses heat pump technology to extract moisture from your clothes. Rather than generating heat with a gas burner or electric coils, a heat pump moves thermal energy from one area to another using a refrigerant and a condenser—like an air conditioner in reverse. Heat pump clothes dryers deliver both ventless convenience and energy efficiency. The dryer warms cools, and condenses the same air within a self-contained system. Like an air-source heat pump, a heat pump dryer contains a closed loop of refrigerant lines and two sets of coils—an evaporator (cold) and a condenser (hot). Condenser coils heat the air sending hot, dry air through the drum. Warm, moist air exits the drum, and it passes over the evaporator coils to cool the air and extract the moisture. The moisture drains away or collects in a removable tray for you to dump out later. The cycle begins again with the condenser coils heating the air sending hot, dry air through the drum, repeating the process. Cold or luke warm water in places like Florida will not impact the drying times...^Ivan.

  • QuestionWe have two of these and they both drip a small amount of water from the back left corner during the drying cycle. It’s not a water leak from the wash cycle. It’s not the drain hose or water hose. Is this just condensation and is this normal?

    Asked by Dave.

    • Answer Likely condensation, and the drain hose for the condenser reservoir is also on the left but in the front. I find I need to drain excess water with each cycle.

  • QuestionI'm curious how this unit handles pet hair?? One review said pet hair was still all over the clothes after the dry cycle and she has to use a lint brush on everything. That does not sound fun. Would like to hear other opinions on this!

    Asked by LoriAD.

    • Answer 4 cats in my household, and it does leave some hair, but not much. The majority of the hair sticks to the rubber of the door seal, and gets caught in the lint trap. I find it to be very adequate, personally.

      Answered by Sackson

  • QuestionCan this be hooked up to a kitchen sink tap with an adapter?

    Asked by Roe.

    • Answer Yes it can. It doesnt even come with the water hoses so you can puchase that online along with the sink faucet adapter and diverter/aerator and set it up yourself. You might need teflon tape to stop leaks. You can do the same with the drain hose but youll need to cut it and attach a newer longer one. The online kits are very reliable.

  • QuestionSince this is a heat pump, what refrigerant does it use? Also what is the total weight of this unit? Combo units are extremely heavy and most floor joists have to be reinforced to handle the weight.

    Asked by HVACGURU.

    • Answer Not sure about refrigerant but it weighs ~ 250lbs so any floor joists up to code should be just fine - no reinforcement needed.

  • QuestionCan I switch door opening on this particular model?

    Asked by Marlena.

    • Answer Even though the LG rep says you can reverse the door, you can NOT reverse the door on this unit. The manual states that you can’t reverse it. I own this unit and I can confirm that the left side of the opening is indented for the hinges and the right side is not. Therefore you can’t reverse the door.

  • QuestionWhich is a better washer combo, LG or the GE Profile???

    Asked by MTwom92544.

    • Answer I recently got the LG a few days ago and also have a GE Profile at my camp. Both are doing well – the GE is a bit smaller, but it doesn't really make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use. It's a bit wider, about an inch, so watch out for narrow doorways. Functionality-wise, they're pretty similar. Considering the LG comes at a more affordable price, it's the better deal for now. I appreciate the ThinQ app that comes with the LG, adds a nice touch of convenience.
