  • QuestionOur unit stopped draining properly after 9 months of normal use. We frequently cleaned the lint trap, the coil condenser, and the lint catch at the bottom of the unit. LG sent us a replacement detergent part and that did not change anything.

    Asked by Monet27.

    • Answer Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that your WM6998HBA WashCombo is not draining properly. We appreciate you taking the initiative to perform maintenance on the lint trap and coil condenser. Since you've already checked the accessible areas, we recommend confirming the condition of the drain hose. Please ensure that the drain hose is not kinked, twisted, or installed too high, as this can easily restrict the water flow. The height of the drain hose should not exceed 6 cm from the floor to allow for smooth drainage. • QuestionLG all in one washer dryer combo, the heat setting isn’t getting hot, unit is brand new, 110 power connection. Should this unit be wired with 220?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello there. We understand your inquiry regarding the LG 5.0 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Mega Capacity All-in-One WashCombo. This specific model is designed to operate on a standard 120V, 60Hz, 15-Amp outlet and should not be wired for 240V (220V). Because it utilizes a ventless Inverter Heat Pump, the air will feel warm rather than hot compared to traditional dryers, as it focuses on energy efficiency and fabric care. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-5-0-cu-ft-he-smart-mega-capacity-all-in-one-electric-washer-dryer-washcombo-with-steam-and-ventless-inverter-heat-pump-black-steel/JJ8VPZQ98S For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. —Renzo

  • QuestionCan you set this for just wash only . And dry only . Also how long does it take to dry about 10 towels.

    Asked by Kasper.

    • Answer Yes you can, there's options in the app or by scrolling through the multiple load settings options for both: just wash (tons of options), or dry only (only one option). Ten towels takes about 1 -1.5 hours to be completely dry and be sure to clean the lint trap every 30 min.

  • QuestionMy old unit was hooked up to 220v, can I just get an adaptor to go to 120v to make this work?

    Asked by JohnA.

    • Answer Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the power requirements for your LG - 5.0 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Mega Capacity All-in-One Electric Washer/Dryer WashCombo with Steam and Ventless Inverter Heat Pump - Black Steel. This specific WashCombo model is designed to operate on a standard 120V, 60Hz, grounded outlet. We understand your inquiry about using an adapter; however, for safety and to ensure the unit functions correctly, we do not recommend using adapters or extension cords. If your current laundry area only has a 220V/240V outlet, we suggest having a qualified electrician install a dedicated 120V outlet to meet the manufacturer's specifications. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-5-0-cu-ft-he-smart-mega-capacity-all-in-one-electric-washer-dryer-washcombo-with-steam-and-ventless-inverter-heat-pump-black-steel/JJ8VPZQ98S For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. —Renzo

  • QuestionIs this combo unit rated for use in campers? I have a 38' 2025 coachmen it has hookups but was told to make sure that the unit(s) are certified for Camper use. thank you for your time

    Asked by Uni.

    • Answer I'm not sure if any unit would be certified for use in a camper but what I can say about this one is it uses 120 voltage instead of 220 and can plug nicely into any space with a drain and a power plug. This is coming from a user who had one in a tiny apartment.

  • Question“Can this unit be used without a hot water heater to heat the incoming water?”

    Asked by Flexspace.

    • Answer YES! get a hose splitter from your local hardware store it's found in the washing machine section and looks like a "Y" the machine will think it's pulling hot/cold water but in reality it's pulling whatever the temperature of the water source you hooked it up to. Without the splitter you'll get an error code though.

  • Questionwhy does it take over 2 hours to dry a normal size load?won't that make my electric bill higher

    Asked by catjo.

    • Answer The unit uses a compressor to dry the clothes - similar to a dehumidifier. This technology uses less electricity and allows for a standard 120v outlet. Longer dry times are typical but still uses less electricity. No venting to outside also saves energy by not sending conditioned air outside.

  • Questionwhat is heat pump technology? does this machine use 240v or 120v?

    Asked by staynavytom.

    • Answer 120v, can run on a normal 15a breaker. A heat pump dryer is basically just an air conditioner system inside your dryer. The hot part warms the drum and clothes, and the cold part makes the dampness fall out of the air and get drained off. It's extremely energy efficient and allows a closed loop without needing to vent tons of air out of the building. Drying does take longer (around 2 hours for a normal load) but consumes significantly less energy.

  • QuestionCan the LG - 5.0 Cu Ft. HE Smart Mega Capacity All-In-One Electric Washer/Dryer Wash combo's drain pipe be connected to the kitchen sink drain pipe?

    • Answer Yes but you have to reference the height of the drain to insure in spec. This is well documented in the manual.

  • QuestionDoes the Washer drain hose come with it? Also, does the Dryer hose come with dryer?

    Asked by Roz.

    • Answer It does come with the drain hose. There is no dryer vent hose needed, heat pump dryers run using a closed loop and don't need to be vented outside! You will need to purchase/provide your own hot and cold water lines to the unit.

  • QuestionIs this portable?

    Asked by Pain.

    • Answer Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. The LG model WM6998HBA is not a portable washer; it is a front-load washing machine designed for installation in a fixed location. For portable washing machines, you would typically look for models specifically labeled as "portable," which are compact and come with features for easy relocation, such as wheels and a connection kit for temporary hookups.
