  • QuestionI have to defrost this freezer once a month. If you look up upright freezers you should only have to defrost them once to twice a year and it says if you have you have to do it monthly there is a problem. Is anyone else having this issue?

    • Answer Hi, Alfred! Always make sure to defrost the LG - 5.8 cu. Ft Single Door Freezer, Platinum Silver Model: LROFC0605V, once a month. Turn the temperature control dial to the OFF (O) setting. Make sure that the drip tray is properly installed so that water will collect in the tray.   • QuestionDuring the defrosting do you move your stuff into your fridge and/or freezer if you have room? If you leave your stuff in your LG freezer, won't it all defrost during the defrosting process? Don't want to lose frozen stuff. How do y'all handle this??

    • Answer We just defrosted our freezer yesterday. We moved all of the food into our garage refrigerator freezer. That way we could wipe the excess water out before putting the food back in. This is a very hand little freezer.

    • Answer I am so sorry, I cannot answer that because the day after it was delivered I got “long Covid” and am still very sick. Therefore, it has just sat empty with the door open so it doesn’t smell from being closed. I would suggest having a chat or even sending an email to LG.com and their team will respond very quickly!! I’ve asked them many questions. I’d like to mention that currently there is an LG PROMO that if you purchase certain refrigerators you will receive this for FREE. There is a form on their website explaining it BUT I ADVISE CAUTION—-as BEST BUY IS NOT honored on their mail in form. To receive it Free you must order the qualifying refrigerator and the PROMO FREE UPRIGHT FREEZER, REFRIGERATOR, or COMBO FROM BEST BUY AT THE SAME TIME and then Best Buy INSTANTLY CREDITS YOU FOR THE PROMO.
