QuestionPurchased for a small window that's in the upper corner of my son's room.There will be about a 9 inches clearance from the top of the AC unit to the ceiling.Will the air just hit the ceiling, flow outwards and still function?Latham plaster ceiling.

- Answer I installed it since I couldn't return it any longer and it works perfectly!! Thank you for the response and your response was spot on in regards to the movement of the cold air. The placement of the air conditioner is not an issue in regards to cooling. We can't see the digital screen but have set it to a specific temperature and just use the on and off button on the remote.

The air conditioner has a width of 17.32" which means that the smallest space it will fit into is 1.84" on either side between the air conditioner and the window frame and can be stretched a maximum of 8.84" on either side...^IFV

QuestionMy window is 12.5" high x 19.25" wide. Is there any reason why I could not use this unit with my own custom tailored side insulation panels instead of the wider ones that it comes with so it will fit my window?

Using your own custom tailored side insulation panels is at your discretion but is not covered under warranty...^IFV

- Answer This unit is designed to cool 260 sq. ft. for temperature control. We would recommend having an awning over the air conditioner so the sun is not directly hitting the unit. ^CP

QuestionWhere is the water deposit whole/tube located on the exterior of the unit? On the exterior bottom of unit or exterior back of unit. There are not any views available for back of unit. The window sills in the house are 6-8 inches deep.

- Answer This air conditioner is equipped with a slinger fan. The fan has an outer ring that runs in the water that collects in the base pan if it gets deep. That condensate is then picked up by the fan and expelled through the condenser, making the air conditioner more efficient. ^CP

- Answer I just put my a/c unit up yesterday & so I don't know about how things would be in winter. But, the unit did fit snuggly into my window. The guy that installed my a/c unit also put duck tape around the left & right sides as well as putting the spongy foam underneath the unit to take care of any tiny cracks that an insect might get through. You can also use spray foam (that you can purchase at any hardware store) to put around the sides (and bottom, if it suits you) to cover any tiny openings. Hope this helps.

QuestionWould I be able to install this unit in a wall opening, rather than in a window? Units that are specifically for wall installation cost more than twice as much so I was hoping a window unit would work.

- Answer I wish you would explain more. I have an existing opening in a wall that is 26" wide and 15.5" tall. Is it a physical impossibility to install this window unit in this location? Why? Thank you.
