• No, but keep in mind it's not a noise-cancelling headphones, so can still hear some noises while wearing them.

• Yes, sort of. They do block a lot of outside noise but no more than other in-ear buds that have similar earpieces. I use mine at work all the time and kind usually remain aware of what's going on around me.
