A:AnswerIt is a stand alone bulb. It has no hub and connects over WiFi. The bulb doesn’t have Bluetooth functionality. In my personal opinion it is the best smart bulb on the market. I’ve never ran into any connection issues. And everything is controlled by the lifx app which is really well designed. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerThis will work with a 4G LTE hotspot since that device is creating an internet connected WiFi network. When the hotspot is turned off the light will continue to stay on but will no longer be able to be controlled from the app or other smart devices. You will have to manually turn off the light and it will maintain the last settings it had (brightness/color) when it was last connected.
A:Answerone bulb lights up my 10ft by 11 ft room just fine! i have two though and it makes it much better and brighter when using the colors. when using a cool white at 100%, i would say you will be just fine with one bulb!
A:AnswerNope. 2.4ghz only. If you have a dual band router it's better tho as to keep your 5G for computers, mobile etc and keep the slower, less intensive smart devices on 2.4Ghz.
A:AnswerA21 and A19 use the same socket type and thread so they are interchangeable for electrical purposes. The difference is more about the size and shape of the bulb itself. Please read the following link and it should give you a good idea whether the two are interchangeable for your purposes. Good luck

A:AnswerI can turn it off and on with my Harmony hub setup, I'm not sure about doing anything more advanced (like changing colors or brightness), though.
A:Answer1. turn off your 2.4 Ghz from broadcasting on the router so that the 5.2 Ghz broadcast. Setup it up on the 5.2 Ghz. Then turn back on the 2.4 Ghz Wifi.
You will have better responsiveness if you run a hardwired Cat 5/6 from your main switch to another 5 port switch and hardwired it in with ethernet.
A:AnswerDef sounds like it’s being reset without u being aware. Making sure the electric is off.. check to see if the silver butt of the bulb is flat and not bent. Check to see if the outlet bottom contact is clean and able to touch the bottom of bulb completely. I would even just move it to a different outlet. Maybe see if another LIFX bulb in that one outlet screws up too.. however I’ve had just bad lights. Something with the software is just jacked. But usually it’s just HomeKit. Maybe it gets installed on a different network. Try to install it with an Android device instead of Apple
