QuestionDoes this dryer have an end of cycle chime or buzzer, if so can it be disabled?

QuestionMy brand new dryer is nice but noisy - which is in direct contrast to most of the reviews. I bought this dryer because folks said it did a good job drying & it was quiet. The sound is like a metal whooshing or buzz. Anyone else? Ive called service.

- Answer UPDATE::: Best Buy was terrific. They replaced the dryer right away and the new one runs great and very quiet per most of the reviews. The installers are simply terrific- excellent customer service from the delivery company & Best Buy. Very happy with Maytag products.

QuestionI bought a new dryer less than two years ago and purchased the vent kit and hose. Do I have to buy that again for this dryer to be installed?

- Answer They prefer that you do, unless you have insurance on the merchandise. the previous one we had the air vent dust was old and dirty. Unless you want no problems with your new one I will change that out. But the plug necessarily doesn't matter.

- Answer Follow up to my other post. The replacement dryer hasn't been delivered- it's on back order and I wasn't notified of this. Meanwhile, the week old dryer that wouldn't heat is now working fine. Right after receiving it I had reversed the door and also used a 6 ft power cord. I decided to change the door back and use a 4 ft cord and this fixed the issue.

- Answer The come either in gas or electric, you can’t switch from one to the other. The outer sheet metal might be common between the two, but the insides are totally different. If you need a gas dryer, order a gas dryer. If you already own an electric, am electrician can install the correct plug.
