- Answer Had the same problem with 120 GB ssd. Had to let dvr video recorder format the hard drive, and works great now. Had problems with different brand of them, But this SSD has no problem at all and stopped lack of sync with picture and voice. Hope this helps.

QuestionThe tuner in two of my TVs seem to have gone bad. We get plenty of channels on our two others and had on the two bad ones. Service is through cable with no boxes. Will this be a good product just to bypass the TVs own tuner?

- Answer As long as your TV has HDMI or RCA inputs, you can bypass the TV tuner.

- Answer It depends on your antenna. If your antenna picks up a lot of channels then the device will pick them up. I'm using a Terk UHF VHF DIRECTIONAL indoor antenna. I get all the local stations and the device also tunes them in perfectly so that I can watch or record them.

QuestionDoes it have a signal strength meter?

- Answer Yes it does have a signal strength meter. So far I am happy with the product, but I'm still in the learning mode stage. I believe that I need to move the device closer to a window with an antenna to get better signal strength for more reliable recording. Not at the recording is unreliable, but I have many trees around me, and I believe there are times that they block the signal causing drop out at times. At least that's what I hope it is. I've been recording on a western digital easy store USB 3.0. 120 Gig Thumb Dr with very good success. The extension on the file it produces is an MTS. I downloaded a free, open source video editor called Shotcut. I'm also on a learning curve with this. And so far I'm having good results with it. I'm just trying to nail down the export settings that I want to use. To let you know, I've been thinking about purchasing a second one so I can leave the one that I have set up already to use it to watch video files off of a thumb drive. I would suggest you download the manual from the company just to get a better idea of what it will do, and/or how it will do it. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

QuestionI have an external hard drive and when I record one show and then later record another the first one is gone. Where is the first? How many shows can you record during a day? Thanks

- Answer I wish I could answer your question as to where the previous file is gone, but I can't. Mine don't seem to disappear, they just get tacked on with another name. I would suggest looking at your external hard drive on a computer to see if you can find them. At least this way you would know if they in fact were being deleted or the device just can't see them for some reason.

QuestionI rescanned the channels on my HW-150PVR then I could not record programs between 8-9 and 27-1. It shows to watch but can't set timers other than manual record. Updated and factory restored but no effect. Any suggestions?

QuestionThe device records programs but when I try to play them back the “USB Device Is Removed” the message says. Is this a feature or a bug? How can this be fixed. I have had the item for about a week.

- Answer You need to have a USB flash drive in the front USB slot to record and playback. Something like a 32 gb SanDisk Cruzer Glide. If you already have a usb flash drive in the usb slot and are getting this message then the usb flash drive is defective or the converter box is defective. Try a new usb flash drive and see what happens. I would not recommend connecting an external hard drive to this converter box due to the potential harm the converter box could do to the hard drive.

- Answer No. It only supports ATSC 1.0. Nextgen is the new standard for 4K TV's and uses the new ATSC 3.0 standard. The Mediasonic won't work with ATSC 3.0

- Answer With your HD antenna (about $30) you get free HD channels available in your area. You can buy an external DVR which connects by USB and record whatever you want for free.

QuestionCan the closed caption on this device be made bigger and bolder. It's a bit too small to read, especially from across the room. I like white letters on black background. There seems to be only 1 choice for English - CC1. Any other options?

QuestionGood sound through surround receiver,when I turn off my receiver and it goes into pass through the sound from tv cuts in and out pretty bad, really choppy, using all HDMI cables from Mediatronic box output! My cable box didn't do this, is it defective?

- Answer Yes, you can. Hdmi is a standard protocol. I had no problem using a soundbar with this as to watch the NBA Finals on my projector with a soundbar.

- Answer Nope, Nada ... This unit can record from its own tuner. It will not receive a cable signal, nor does it have the ability to decipher it.

QuestionI tried to use a XGA computer monitor with a HW-150PVR and an Insignia HDMI to VGA adapter. It appears to provide a normal tv picture except that there is a green rectangle in the middle of it, message 'INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE". Why does it do that?

- Answer The xga doesn't accept the resolution that you are using. Go into the settings and change the video output of the tuner.
