• A:Answer I can't speak to the surface book specifically, but with the 2017 surface pro it works very well. Since they're basically siblings in the same product family, I would assume it would work out the same. Most of its utility is in the software though, and there isn't a lot of native app support for more advanced functionality yet. That's all up to the developers, not microsoft. If you have a few minutes to go into the Settings app and make your own control shortcuts, you'll find it works quite well!

• A:Answer I'll answer my own question. This dial can zoom in/out in MS Whiteboard. I haven't figured out how to make it scroll up/down in MS Whiteboard, or how to make it select pen type/color/size. In Edge, I can scroll up/down and zoom in/out. I wish there were some way I could change the speed of the scrolling or the zooming; currently I have to turn the dial more than I'd like when scrolling or zooming. I wish I could change this, the same way that I can change the mouse's speed. It looks like it can also perform the undo/redo editing tasks, and adjust the brightness and volume.

• A:Answer Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I have a Surface 6 and it works amazingly well. I would suspect that this would also work on the 7th. It is such an important tool for drawing that I can't imagine MS not supporting it.
